Captain Obvious?

What am I missing here? Nothing against this actor, but I certainly don't find him appealing. He's scrawny, chicken-breasted and looks terrible in a bathing suit. I don't find carrying a pile of food and grabbing a handful of spaghetti either amusing or appetizing. This does not suggest to me any kind of hotel I would want to go do. And what's with this absurd outfit?  It's fascinating how much money companies put into commercials like these. Do they really work?
