Marjorie Taylor Greene is in the news again with her insane conspiracy rants and de riguer attack on Joe Biden. But why waste any words on this Georgian wacko who is sure to make some stupid, hateful comment every day of her worthless life?

BEAST CAPTURED BY NYPD.

Bravo to the NYPD. They located the thug who kicked and stomped on an innocent  Asian woman in record time. The creep was 38-year-old sadistic bigot Brandon Elliot, who has just traded his homeless shelter hotel for a prison cell since his despicable act carries many penalties. His nameless 65-year-old victim is recovering, no thanks to the three cowardly hotel employees who saw the attack an did nothing during, or even after, the assault. I truly believe their lack of coming to her rescue is not standard behavior for witnesses.

ANOTHER TRUMPSTER UNDER INVESTIGATION.

 I must admit I am totally shocked to learn that Matt Gaetz is under investigation for sex trafficking over state lines with his 17-year-old girlfriend. My shock has nothing to do with having believed Matt was a moral person. I never believed that. Nor does it have to do with thinking that he was too smart to do anything that stupid. I certainly never thought that. And it isn't that I thought he wouldn't know the law, since we already know I pegged him as stupid. None of those. The reason I was shocked is, considering how tight he is with Jim Jordan, I always thought Matt was gay.  Thank God he isn't a blot on the gay community. Still not sure about Jimmy.  (And of course, Ginger Luckey could be a beard,)

NEEDED COVER UP

 I am very distressed that Ted (Rafael) Cruz refuses to wear a mask. It's not because I worry that we will contract Covid-19, or that we will pass it on to his equally biased Republican friends. My main desire for him to use a mask is that he is so damned ugly. At least a mask will hide half of that repulsive face.

Just when you think that Donald Trump can't make a bigger fool of himself than he already has, he tops even his most pathetic attempts for attenion. How? He crashed a wedding at Mara Lago and took over the mic, not to praise the happy couple but to beg, "Do you miss me yet?" This sad plea was followed, as usual with a series of lies. Notable among them was that the children at the border are living in squalor. They did live in squalor during Trump's cruel administration. Biden is making every attempt to make their existence comfortable and as short as possible. Trump dragged out, almost in tears, his constant complaint lines abut China, Iraq, whatever. I don't feel bad for the married couple since they chose to wed in that baroque bedlam of conservative madness. And I must admit it amuses me to see Donald so needy and so desperate for attention that he had to seek out the nearest mike and captive audience to ask the only question important to a loser like him, "Do you miss me yet?"

THE SUPERCILIOUS SCION.

Eric. Eric. Eric. Why do you keep putting your foot into your mouth? Haven't you been shown to be stupid enough? Do you thrive on embarrassment, feed on ridicule? I can't believe you are complaining that Joe Biden has visited his home in Delaware three times. If you recall your bone lazy father visiting his golf courses 19 times in the same period, costing the American taxpayers millions. What is the problem, lad? Are you, like your father, unable to read so you never get your facts straight? Or are you addicted to Fox News who never gives you the straight news anyway? Soon daddy is going to be in prison, and you'll have no one to defend but yourself. I suggest you keep your mouth shut for at least a year and let your even moronic brother Jr. handle all the Trump family gaffes along with his loudmouthed moll. Keep busy and out of the news. Find another charity you can rob. This time without getting caught. 

DEFENDING THE INDEFENSIBLE.

Today it begins: The Trial of Derek Chauvin. It promises to be a long trail though it shouldn't be. The defense needs time to say George Floyd died from having taken drugs, from a weak heart, and any other human failing they can drum up. But he didn't. Those other problems may have killed him later or at another time, but not the day he died. This trial can be summed up in three words. The reason George Floyd died is contained in three words. Not in drugs. Not in a weak heart. In these three words:"I can't breathe."And the reason he couldn't breath was that Derek Chauvin was pressing his knee on George Floyd's neck. Not innocently because George said, "I can't breathe." repeatedly and pathetically. But Derek kept his knee there for 8 minutes and 46 seconds. (Time it on your watch.) Witnesses told Chauvin to remove his knee, but the arrogant Chauvin kept it there. So for a week or two we can expect to hear the defense vilify George Floyd with all kinds of cleverly phrased excuses why he died and why Derek Chauvin should not be punished. But Derek Chauvin murdered George Floyd and the proof of that is in the three terrifying words, "I can't breathe."

ANGER IN THE AIR.

I will never fly Southwest Airlines. After hearing the kind of conservative nutcase they hired, who is not only bitter and unhinged, but is ignoring airline rules. Plus since I imagine he had a co-pilot, I am assuming that person was in agreement with his rant. I don't require complete clear-headedness from everyone I depend on, but I sure demand it from airline pilots.

I wonder who the Creepublican idiot was in the Georgia legislature who suggested making it illegal for people to offer food or drink to voters waiting in long lines. Because it was that sadistic suggestion that really infuriated democratic voters. So which white male racist was it (the whole insanity was created by white male racists). I'm sure when Governor Brian Kemp signed this Jim Crow law behind closed doors he was feeling pretty smug with himself. How does he feel now when the entire country sees him for the cowardly bigot he is? Not only has he disgraced himself and his family, but he has made the recently emerging Georgia once again seem narrow and backward. Let us hope its citizens don't allow this to stand.

Sorry Dixie. I find it very hard to believe that this young man would go to great lengths to prepare a dinner for his girlfriend and A. not have actual dinner plates and B. rely on obviously cheap paper plates that any fool could see wouldn't support the meal. Surely there are dozens of logical scenarios in which persons used cheap paper plates instead of the supposedly stronger Dixies. This situation was not one of them. Nor was the commercial involving the wall painters.

It comes as no surprise that Curly McDimple Paul will be attending the Women for America First rally at Trump's faltering Miami golf course. The event, organized by Trump worshiper Amy Kremer, of course has nothing to do with making America first but dragging it down in the same dirt—no mud—of January 6. It is an attempt to further further the lie that the election was stolen from the mostly unpopular nutcase Donald Trump in the hopes of raising a fortune from persons who have no use for facts.  Needless to say the delusional Ms. Kremer, is thrilled to have a semi-famous traitor like Rand Paul attend, especially when he will be among such other leading loonies as Marjorie Taylor Greene. How long do you think these renegade Republicans will push the pathetic fantasy of the stolen election? I guess as long as gullible Trump fans keep sending in their hard-earned dollars or to until Trump is thrown in jail, exposed for the fraud he is.

You've got to admit that Georgia's Republican lawmakers are pretty brave. It takes a lot of courage to be so obviously racist in a state that has such a large black population. I mean what balls they have to so publicly spit on their black constituents and show such utter contempt with their new voting laws. You would think these racists would worry about their futures being so surrounded by persons that they have so obviously demeaned and verbally assaulted. Imagine voting to make it illegal to give black voters (let's be realistic, that's who they mean) food or water while waiting in the endless lines they hope to create, which, by the way, is going to affect all other white voters as well.  I mean that's sick and sadistic and certainly not democratic. Hopefully these insane (and they are insane) rules will be overturned before they lead to dangerous consequences. I mean the Republicans have every reason to believe that Georgians are becoming more liberal, but isn't it kind of stupid for them to start making draconic laws to transparently prove that conservatives are unpatriotic cowards and not worthy of Georgia's respect, black or white?

 Seth Myers recently accused Sean Hannity of being sociopathic and Sean Hannity obliged by proving that Seth Meyers was correct.  Firstly by his unhinged rant calling Myers, "...another limousine liberal socialist hypocritical asshole...with virtually nothing positive or productive to add to any political dialogue." But the rant from Hannity that shows his true madness is posed as this sick scenario to Myers,"God forbid if someone breaks into your home — I hope it never happens — or someone else’s home and wants to bring harm to you and your loved ones. What are you going to do, Seth?” Now this is not an imagined situation, it is an invitation, a suggestion to some unhinged criminal to break into Myers home and cause mayhem because Hannity is so sick he would love that to happen. I am surprised he didn't spew out the address. Fox viewers do not realize that Carlson, and Hannity are very angry and dangerous people.

THE BUTCH MEMBERS OF CONGRESS.

 There are lots of Republican morons in Congress, but two stand out: Lauren Boebert and Marjorie Taylor Greene, both brainless, both heartless, both embarrassments to their states: Colorado and Georgia. It is shocking that such combative, irresponsible, hard-boiled harridans even get into Congress. But once in, instead of being benefits to their constituents, they prove to be constant thorns in the sides of every law-abiding citizen they represent. We know that Boebert is a big supporter of voter suppression, based on her moronic comment today that you aren't send an assault rifle in the mail. We're not so clear are Taylor's idiocies since she is an unhinged rabid conspiracy theorist and changes her clouded mind with every new wacko idea. But she is also a gun nut and I'm sure, like Boebert, feels nothing for the ten innocent citizens who died in Boebert's state this week. We must get rid of vermin like these two racist gun-toting shrews.

WHAT RECENT JEOPARDY HOST IS A PROBLEM?

 As a major fan of Jeopardy, I was offended when I heard that Ken Jennings would be their first guest host. I assumed he would be arrogant and annoying.  I was completely wrong. He handled the role with complete professionalism and charm, and franklyI was astonished at how good he was. I would not object if he was named the permanent host. I was also impressed with Katie Couric who seemed to have fun doing the role, in which she was excellent. Also good was the attractive producer, whose name escape me. Sadly I am not as happy with the newest MC, Doctor Oz.  Not only because he is a proven quack.  But frankly he lacks charm and is not pleasant to look at. With so many possible hosts,  I cannot imagine why the producers chose a host with so many strikes against him and so unfit for the role. 

BIGOT'S HIDEOUT.

Georgia has just proven itself the most racist state in the union with their new voter restriction laws. Pity the poor blacks who live there.On the other hand they can take pride that the state's senate and legislature who voted for he new draconian rules are obviously so afraid of Georgia's black population. After all they recently screwed them out of two senate seats. Governor Brian Kemp is a complete idiot by showing his racism by actually denying voters waiting in line food and water. What kind of nutcase ruling is that?  I can only hope the blacks of Georgia rise up in a peaceful demonstration of this totally biased and, as Biden says "sick" collection of rules to prevent Democrats from being heard. (This would make a nice initial project for the Black Militia.) This kind of Jim Crow oppression cannot be tolerated. A bill this evil that passes 34-20 in the state Senate and 100-75 in the house cannot be allowed to stand. And Brian Kemp must be removed.

Today on MSNBC, I heard another Senator refer to the Capitol as "The People's House". Are our senators that stupid? The Capitol is not the people's house, the White House is the people's house. It's even called a  house. How difficult can that be to understand?

The Creepublicans are constantly trying to portray Joe Biden at 78 as dotty because he makes the same kind of harmless errors that men of fifty make. It just doesn't wash. Which is why they were so disappointed at his brilliant control of facts yesterday. They seem to ignore the fact that  Republican Senator Grassley is 87 years old, an age at which he would have been long retired from most companies. At nine years older than Biden why do they allow this old man to vote or deliver any speeches? Because he's still lucid as is Biden. If they're looking for old men who are not lucid, check out Mitch McConnell who at 80 years old as about as bitter an old codger as any chasing kids off his property. And of course their hero Trump is in his mid seventies, and he lost his faculties decades ago. The Creepublicans are immature, spiteful, and mean, behaving like spoiled children who have not yet discovered etiquette and fairness and want everyone else's toys. They are destructive and will trash our country to get their way, using any excuse possible to vilify honorable men like Biden.They must be disciplined.

What is it about these Creepublican Senators like Mike Rounds? They are so bitter and angry about losing the power that they can't see straight. What's with his supposed gun-toting macho pose and mild looking dog? When you say "she bites, too"does that mean she also licks you where nobody else wants to? You're a senator for God's sake. You get a great salary. You are supposed to do good things for your constituents, not waste your time being a petty teen-ager bitch with a juvenile vendetta.  Don't embarrass South Dakota. Grow up, Marion.

GREAT SHOW EXCEPT.

While I am a huge fan of The Big Bang Theory, now that it seems to be running endlessly I have come to be bothered by much of its content. First of all I always thought it was too scatalogical. Either Chuck Lorre or Bill Prady, or both, must not have been toilet trained as children since they seem to be obsessed with bodily functions in an infantile way which I don't think their characters would be. Also most of the males, while hilarious, are very damaged. Howard is sex-fixated and I would think would make a lousy husband for Bernadette. Sheldon is selfish and obnoxious to a degree that OCD doesn't excuse his behavior, and certainly makes him a poor marital choice for someone as in need of love as Amy. Leonard is beyond needy and Penny would be a fool to marry such an insecure neurotic. Raj, while also insecure, seems agreeable enough, but does seem conflicted about his sexuality. At any rate I still watch it every night and find the writing brilliant (except for the potty humor) and am not surprised it is so popular. Speaking of which I find their commercial in which viewers thank the cast for making their lives so much better way over the top in self-congratulations. If anything the cast should thank the viewers for making The Big Bang Theory popular enough to provide each of them with a million dollars an episode.

BRAINWASHING ADS.

 TV viewing is unpleasant enough considering the multitude of repetitive commercials we are forced to watch in a single evening. But the nightmare recently got worse, much worse, with an even more endless deluge of irritating ads promoting Discovery Plus, a new streaming service. These tedious commercials seem to pop up at least once with every station break on every channel. There is a theory that if you hate an advertiser enough, you will never buy its product. I hope that is the case with Discovery Plus. First of all I'm sure it is all mediocre television, no matter how cheap it is, and loaded wth commercials. Fortunately I have TCM, so can click away from this barrage of maddening commercials every time they appear, which should give me time to watch an entire classic movie.

I notice the Creepublicans are attempting to turn Biden's attempts at humanitarian acts on the border into a disaster, mostly the Cancun Coward Ted Cruz.  They didn't seem as bothered when Trump was wrenching children from their parents and putting them in cages, but Biden's attempt to protect unescorted children has them all fired up with fake indignation. I doubt that Ted Cruz cares a whit about any frightened child. Another whiner of course is the Arkansas geek Tom Cotten. Is that all Creepublicans can do is bitch about Democrats without ever providing any helpful advice or deserved admiration? You bet it is!

Lucky me!  I never entered the Publisher' Clearing House sweepstakes, but  got a phone call today, from someone claiming to be them, telling me I had been a first prize winner of $17 million dollars. They wanted me to call 888-354-3114 with the ID #they sent. For laughs I did and after they asked several questions, he said that I would need to send  gift tax of $9,500. At this point I told him I had a very popular Blog (which isn't true) and would expose their scam which left him fuming. I am assuming that PCH couldn't be behind a fraud like this, but I worry about all the gullible people out there that may actually be taken in by this kind of grifting. So if anyone you know claims they won in the Publisher's Cleariing House and had to send in a gift tax to claim their fortune, please set them straight.

 Trump, idiotic as usual, has suggested that the future of the Republican Party rests with such stalwarts as Ron DeSantis, Ted Cruz, and Josh Hawley. Ron DeSantis is the incompetent Governor of Florida who is universally detested for his inept handling of the coronavirus pandemic, possibly resulting in thousands of deaths. Those deaths do not include the wealthy donors he let jump the vaccination line in return for future favors. Ted Cruz, the most hated man in Congress, is  an absolutely repulsive scumbag who abandoned his constituents to a frozen, powerless Texas while he flew off to sunny Cancun. Josh Hawley is, along with Cruz, a traitor to American democracy and responsible in great part for the January 6 attack on the Capitol. The seven deaths from that insurrection, including the beating to death of Officer Sicknick, were a direct result of the treasonous acts of Ted Cruz and Josh Hawley. And these three unpatriotic losers are who Trump sees as leading the future of America?  God help us.

How stupid is America? That we allow assault rifles is insane. They are not for killing rabbits or deer. What idiot permitted them to be a standard purchase at America's gun shops? And who does the NRA have in their pocket that they still exist. There is no evil plan to take away America's guns, but we must take away these weapons of war, these evil devices that can slaughter 20 people in a minute. Just to look at them, you know they are designed for death, for destruction, for the eradication of human life, innocent human life. They are military arms and have no place in the bars, supermarkets, churches and streets of America. If Congress continues to permit them, then there are those in Congress who are profiting on the deaths of America's citizens. Who are they?  Two new assault-weapons owning shrews in Congress are Lauren Boebert and, shown here,Marjorie Taylor Greene proudly clutching off her weapon of death. I am sure both of them, like many owners of such destructive arms, are eager to use their assault weapons on actual people.

As a white man, I, for one am cautiously optimistic to hear about NFAC, the black militia group that is forming across the country. Arrogant white politicians and racist police officers have given African-Americans no choice but to build a major defense against racism, voter suppression,  and making blacks second-class citizens. At this point, and I hope it remains so, the group is anti-violent and highly democratic, but will march and do what is necessary to protect their rights. The good news is that the racist Republicans are, and always have been, terrified of blacks, so just knowing there is a militia of thousands watching their every move will put the fear of God in them. They will lose sleep imaging the horrors that never even occur to NFAC. Will Ron Johnson dare to make such bigoted remarks knowing NFAC is listening? Will curlyheaded brat Rand Paul be such a troublemaker when a nearby black woman may be a NFAC member? As NFAC grows and shows its muscle and increasing numbers, will these evil Republicans dare to impose unfair voting laws? I don't think so. Will paranoid Marjorie Taylor Greene ever feel safe again knowing an organization of thousands of people she vilifies will always have someone not far from where she is spewing her racial hatred?

 As creepy and traitorous as so many Republicans are today, I must admit I'm surprised that they revere a man as unmanly as Trump. He is practically a bitchy teenager in his vendettas and need to get even with those who have wronged him. His desire to replace Georgia's Raffensperger makes him seem as spiteful as a schoolyard bully. How can a grown man even admit to such vindictive desires? He's like the girl who was turned down for cheerleader and wants revenge on the girl who was chosen.  The boy who couldn't buy his way into a fraternity and now wants to punish every member.  Trump is spiteful, petty, churlish, cowardly, boorish, loutish, clownish, very sick and above all pathetically childish. Amazing that so many supposedly adults look up to this crybaby.

I don't care whom I offend: Today's commercials are mostly pathetic. Here is a roundup of commercials that I either can't stand or can't understand. For horrible jingles there is GMC's "GoBoyGo" and Hard Rock's "I think that I like you." I'm still not sure about "Nothing is everything." For sheer overkill Liberty Mutual already won with their irritating and ubiquitous Emu ads, but are sure to be equally annoying with their totally meaningless Wet Teddy Bears. For creepy you can't beat the half man/half motorcycle for Progressive (how does he sleep or perform bodily functions?) Speaking of Progressive, love Flo, hate Jamie. Except for anything with the actual gecko, I find most of Geico's self-congratulatory hit-and-miss Geico ads annoying, especially the bagpipes. Xfinity ads are mostly bad, generally untrue and they never pronounce Internet correctly. Sadly some of the best directed ads are the most offensive because they are total frauds. I am speaking about Prevacid, the world's most costly placebo.

According to news reports, a large number of Republicans (mostly Trumpists) are unwilling to be vaccinated against Covid. This morning on MSNBC, they showed an entire restaurant of Republicans who  to a person said they will not be vaccinated, even if Trump was highly in favor of it. The bad news is that too large a number of such idiots affects herd immunity. The good news is the future patients gasping for breath or suffering horrible side effects will probably be only these fools. Maybe their fellow jerks on seeing their misery will wise up and get their shots. I for one have had both shots. No side effects, no concerns. What I feel is a greater sense of freedom from the dangers of Covid, which is a great feeling after a year of anxiety. I still mask. I still keep my distance. But I don't feel any fear at going to the market or to an outdoor restaurant for dinner. How sad that these ill-educated Republicans are convinced that what is life-saving is dangerous, and thus have to continue to be targets of a virus that shows no signs of leaving soon.

We always knew that the Trumps were low class, vindictive, sore losers. But with their new petty video of Donald hitting a golf ball that strikes Joe Biden, they have proven themselves truly malevolent. Not only is it highly offensive (and possibly illegal) to suggest violence against the President of the United States but it shows how deep, bitter, and unhinged both Trump and Junior are. These are not adult men with control of their emotions, but sick, maladjusted misfits who strike out in the sickest possible ways to express their deep dissatisfaction with themselves. Trump has already initiated an assault on the Capitol which resulted in seven deaths, has fomented hate talk which has led to untold injuries and deaths, now he and his obsequious son are circulating a sick video which finds the death of our president amusing. I suggest that the authorities who are working on his criminal charges move quickly. This is a man too dangerous to be out in public.

 It's no surprise that former Florida state senator, Frank Artiles was recently arrested for pulling a scam to get a Republican elected to the state senate. It seems the only way for Republicans to win anymore is to cheat, steal, lie, change voting rules, close voting stations, cancel voting days, or shorten voting hours. Why hang around in such an impotent party that has no relevance, no respect, no honest wins? You would think they would have at least voted for the Covid relief bill, rather than letting an entire country see how cheap and mean-spirited they are. But that would have taken foresight. You think they would have made a pretense of respecting blacks, but it just wasn't in them. So here we have it, one news item after another of a sham election, an attempt to get black voters off the rolls,  and any number of devious "oilcan Harry" moves to unfairly get Republicans in office. Here's hoping that come November or any upcoming election, the deceitful racist Republicans will be heard snarling...

 Ron Johnson, the country's first Albino Senator, scored huge racist points recently with his praise of the white Capitol-attacking thugs and fear of the peaceful Black Lives Matter protestors. But now the Republican controlled Wisconsin State Senate, eager to win the "Most Prejudiced State in the Union Award", has ignored Black History Month in favor of honoring hate-monger supreme Rush Limbaugh. While praising this evil "Thank-God-He's Dead" icon, they bring shame upon the nearly 7 million residents of Wisconsin and show their hatred for the state's 7% blacks. Here's hoping that anyone planning to vacation or convention in the Badger State in the future opts instead for a state that's more American.

ADVICE TO JIMMY

Hey Little Chap, if you want to make people believe you're six-feet tall like it says in your Internet bio, you have got to stop taking photos with people who are taller than you, which includes just about everyone.

 

 This morning I got up perfectly happy and opened my e-mail. It seems that Roku which I have had for ages was offering a remote for only $9.99. I decided to order it. Big mistake. Suddenly Roku was asking for all my information again, including my password which I didn't remember and this led to a hour of dealing with computer chats which I hate (they would not give a phone number) , idiotic questions, repetitive forms to fill out, dissatisfation with the  new password I chose, proving I was a human being and making my blood pressure soar. I finally gave up in disgust and imagine tonight I will not be able to access any Roku channels. The biggest mistake all corporations make today is assuming everyone  is computer savvy because they are, thus alienating good customers like me who haven't a clue how to effectively use today's technology, thus costing them millions in profits from Luddites.

 Ron Johnson, the nation's only Albino Senator, has got to be out of his mind. He can't understand why everyone is critical of his insane comments about the insurrectionists. He says these thugs love America though they tried to destroy its Capitol. He says they respect the law. Did he not notice that they broke windows, knocked down doors, attacked law enforcement, stole laptops, shredded government documents, and actually murdered a highly respected defender of the law he claims they admire? But then Johnson says they would never do anything to break the law. Then why is the FBI rounding up these "nice people" in a massive manhunt? Ron Johnson should resign due his greatly diminished capacities not to mention his disgusting racism.

I got my second shot of Moderna on Sunday, and it feels great to be free again. To not worry every day that I might pick up the virus from someone. I understand that a lot of Republicans are not confident in the vaccine and won't take it. Fine with me. That means fewer living Trumpists in the future. Nothing wrong with that. It's amazing how much riskier life becomes for those who don't believe in science and do believe in know-nothings like Tucker Carlson and Donald Trump. I suspect that Tucker, being a sneaky little bitch, will get the vaccine as soon as it's available. He just wants others to refuse it because he thinks it will hurt Biden. Some patriot! I won't include a photo of him because I find him so repulsive and unAmerican these days, I can barely look at his big round face.

It comes as no surprise to me that the FBI did not thoroughly investigate Brett Kavanaugh before the Republican Senate ushered him onto the Supreme Court. This revelation comes from Democratic Senator Sheldon Whitehouse who reports that many witnesses to Kavanaugh's misconducts were never contacted making it obvious that those in power wanted this unqualified lush on the court. Only the most cynical right-wing devotees would suggest that Christine Blasey Ford was lying about being sexually molested by Kavanaugh. (Repeating the crime against Anita Hill that left us with the incompetent Clarence Thomas.) Will the wrong be righted? Unlikely.

Multi-millionaire Jared Kushner stuck American taxpayers with a $24,000 hotel bill before leaving theWhite House. Greedy pig. Ron Johnson after his absurd praise of the Capitol riots and expressions of terror at BLM, is denying he's a racist. Nasty bigot. Tucker Carlson's face is inflating by the day as is the face of his defender Ted Cruz. Creepy couple. Good news: Like MSNBC's brilliant Rachel Maddow, CNN's Brianna Keiler is a powerful fighter for truth.

A BLACK HEART

Kevin McCarthy, Minority Leader of the House of Representatives is a happy man today. Why is he happy? Because thousands of migrants are stranded at the Southern border, fearful, hungry, dirty, not sure of their futures. Why should this make Kevin happy? Because it gives him an opportunity to criticize President Biden. He couldn't care less about these poor, tired, huddled masses. As a Republican he would just as soon send them back to their oppressive countries, and finish Trump's cruel fence whatever the cost. Still he will make a pretense of caring if it allows him to take joy in Biden's dilemma. Unfortunately for Kevin, his delight at the migrants' misery and Biden's distress is all too transparent. How sad that we are cursed with heartless congressmen like McCarthy.

NATURE VS. NURTURE

Just for the hell of it, I would like to add my strictly anecdotal contribution to this age-old argument. I was raised with two brothers in a Boston slum in 40s and 50s. We went to average public schools and earned average grades. It never occurred to us that we would go to college and we didn't. We all worked at ordinary jobs from an early age. But in time my brother Gary, the youngest, become a successful author. He wrote mysteries, youth novels, biographies, and many admired books on the subject of writing. He wrote a bio of Bogart's son and was working on a bio of Kelsey Grammer when he died at 50. I, the middle brother, became a copywriter for leading agencies in Boston, Miami, and L.A. and won many awards. In addition I have written three books, many magazine stories, and over 70 short plays, and one full-length play that had two workshop performances in Manhattan. David the oldest brother did not become a writer, but had a successful career nonetheless and did in fact write several short stories and an unpublished novel. So you see the writing gene came from somewhere. Because, like I said, no one went to college. This is not to brag, but to remind you that there is no accounting for some careers and you are not out of the running just because you don't have a college diploma.

"HOW DARE YOU ADMIRE ME!"

Andrew Cuomo is an intelligent guy as his coverage of the advent of the coronavirus pandemic proved. Therefore I feel certain that if he knew that Charlotte Bennet was such a delicate flower that a few impertinent questions would completely confuse and horrify her and make her eager to destroy Governor Cuomo's career, he would not have asked them. By the same token I feel that he would have had the same reaction with the other women who are absolutely furious that he found them attractive and desirable and the nerve to say so or otherwise indicate his admiration. A pity that they have reacted as violently and spitefully as if he were a Bill Cosby who had spiked their drink and actually assaulted them. Sorry, but I fail to understand why an expression that someone finds you attractive and desirable is such a nightmare. And I cannot understand why a woman in the 21st Century is unable to say to a man, "I'm not interested in you, so don't bother me." Or for that matter, punch him in the face. But no. It seems the solution to an unwanted flirtation is to strip the man of all dignity, try to force him to resign from the position he took years to achieve, and encourage the press to make him seem as evil and disgusting as possible.

A FEEL-GOOD MEMORY GAME.

I have a little game that you and your family should play. It doesn't take anything but a memory. First make a list —on paper or just verbally — of all the black people who have given you pleasure: vocalists, actors, comedians. If you're young the names may include names like Beyonce, Viola Davis, Oprah Winfrey, Idris Elba,  If you're older, you probably fondly remember Pearl Bailey, Sammy Davis Jr., Nat King Cole, and Sidney Poitier, among dozens of others.  After you've compiled your list, make another list of all the gay persons who have enriched your life. If you're young they might include Neil Patrick Harris, Ellen DeGeneres, Jim Parsons, Elton John and Ellen Page. More senior Americans will recall Rock Hudson, Lizabeth Scott, Tab Hunter, Anthony Perkins, Agnes Moorehead and Alexis Smith. What's the point of these lists? Only to remind you how much blacks and gays are an important part of your life at a time when white supremacists and homophobes like Tucker Carlson, Donald Trump, and almost  the entire Republican Senate are trying to create divisions between all Americans. They're trying to make us enemies when there's no reason we can't all be friends.

The Internet says that Matt Gaetz is 5'7" in height and that Jim Jordan is 6'.  Huh?

GOOD-HEARTED JOE.

If you're like most hard-working Republicans, you're about to get a large check in the mail or added to your bank balance. This check will help relieve some of the financial problems you've been having since we were plagued by coronavirus. Somebody fought hard to make sure you got this relief. Still there were those who didn't want you to have it, didn't think you deserved it, and frankly didn't give a damn what difficulties you were in because they were doing just fine.  Those people were Republican Senators. Not one of them, not one, voted for you to have that check that you will soon receive. So please when you get your check, when you cash it, when you spend it, keep in mind that the only reason you have this money, the only reason, is the Joe Biden wanted to make your life easier and so did the Democrats in government.
