If you're thinking of opening an account with Truist Bank, think again. I was stuck with them after they absorbed Sun Trust, a very friendly, efficient, problem solving, easy to reach bank which Truist is not. In their latest statement I noted a check cashed to me with an unfamiliar name for a large amount. Distressed by this, my goal was to clear up this problem with their fraud division. This proved hopeless as I was on hold for 30 minutes before I gave up. I then called their Customer Service Department. Same thing. Waited and waited and despite a recorded voice saying someone would be with me soon, nobody was. Even if your are at a branch with a question, they take your name and put you on a waiting list and have you wait and wait. I have never dealt with such an incompetent bank and plan to remove all my funds today, which I am sure will be a huge hassle. So be smart. Don't put any money in a Truist bank in the first place, unless of course you're a sucker for punishment.
