If Mississippi ever wants to achieve any kind of status as anything but a poor, rural, backwater, bible-thumpers haven for half wits like governor Phil Bryant, they should embrace gay marriage and any other progressive thinking that will move them into the 21st century and try to avoid any press statements like this:  "JACKSON, Miss., April 2 (Reuters) - Mississippi's governor said he will sign a religious freedom bill approved by state lawmakers over the objections of opponents who say it could be used as an excuse to refuse services to gays and minorities."
