THE DEJA VU EVENING NON-NEWS.

I haven't totally given up yet on the so-called "network news" at 6:30, but I'm getting closer. The reporters seem to be increasingly illiterate. In discussing the coming tropical storm on the news last night, a female reporter stated, "The biggest concern are these waves." But my newest gripe is more serious. As  most viewers are aware, these half-hour time slots are at least 30% commercials, mostly for pharmaceuticals.  So we have all seen these 60-second spots for Cialis, etc. dozens if not hundreds of times. In the past week I have noticed that I not only have to watch the commercials repeatedly, but the news as well. More and more the networks are running yesterday's news as if were fresh. Sadly one story from the night before was the shooting of Dwyane Wade's cousin; by adding one new fact, they feel they can run the entire story again. Also repeated, the tale of the two tipsy pilots arrested in Glasgow, as we knew from the night before.
