While it's sad I think it's appropriate that Amber Guyger has been charged with murder. I only hope she isn't given a slap on the hand sentence. As a Dallas police officer, she is supposed to be observant,
restrained, cautious. She was none of those and within moments of demanding that Botham Jean, an innocent man, show her his hands, she shot him. He died several hours later. I blame Amber, of course for her reckless lack of awareness. But I also blame the Dallas Police Department for hiring someone so ill-equipped to be a law enforcer, and so easily terrified by a situation that held no danger at all.
