QUESTIONABLE TASTE?

After 40 years in advertising. I am very critical of the commercials I see today. Most of them are inept, Many I don't even understand. Some are illiterate. And others are just mush mouthed. But then they are those that fall under the category: What were they thinking? One such commercial is for Lay's Potato Chips. In this commercial Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head are having some kind of spat related, I suppose, to the Lay's Potato Chips they are eating. What? If they are potatoes, and they are eating potato chips, doesn't that make them cannibals?

In 1952, George Lerner of New York City invented and patented Mr. Potato Head based on an earlier toy called "make a face" that used a real potato. Lerner originally designed his all-plastic toy as a prize for cereal premiums.
