IT WORKED EVERY TIME.

Why do we have land phones? I don't think I ever get a personal call on mine, but I do get about twenty sales calls a day. Do we keep them because once upon a time, land phones like the one shown here were operative, even in the worst weather?  Now they go out of service with most rainstorms. Or have we just not accepted that land phones are of no value any longer, but we don't totally trust our cell phones? I don't know.  What I do know is that when my land phone rings, it will not be be a friend. It will be a plea for a political contribution, a man in India selling a Viagra ripoff, or any number of robocalls, pushing roofing, a charity, or some kind of scam. I miss you Ma Bell.
