UNDER COVER OF NIGHT.

Detective Joe Kenda says that nothing good happens late at night. I agree with him. As a fan of true crime shows, I am stunned by the number of women who are murdered after meeting someone in a bar late at night, or just being out and alone after midnight. Last night there was a famous case of a young woman in Bloomington, Indiana, who disappeared after bar hopping as late as 4 am. Everybody felt sorry for her, of course, but nobody said what the hell was she doing on the streets alone at that time of night. The lovely young girl this week who was stabbed to death by a teenager was in the park alone after dark. True it was early, but still dark. Dark is dangerous. Did she not have any sense of being a vulnerable target? I think every parent should have their young daughters watch Forensic Files or the I.D. channel. Yes, women are abducted in broad daylight. But not as often or as successful as under cover of dark. Be careful. They're out there.
