MY GRAMMATICAL PET PEEVE.

I am reading a true crime book right now. It is very well written, except for one unforgivably incorrect sentence in 339 pages.  The sentence is, "Sadly, if he would have considered the timing of the pregnancy, he might have had suspicions." It amazes me when anyone uses "if he would have" instead of the correct, "if he had". The following is from the Lawless English website.
