BARNES AND NOT SO NOBLE.

A very corrupt industry that has always avoided exposure is the publishing industry.  Since they are, for some reason, not subject to disclosure they lie constantly. Millions of consumers buy books every year that they believe were written by persons who had nothing to do with the book. For instance Donald Trump's The Art of the Deal was totally written by Tony Schwartz. Margaret Truman may have written her first book. But all the others were ghost written. Celebrities put their names on children's books. Movie stars claim to author their biographies. But the most common name you will see in book stores and the most deceitful is James Patterson. He leeches onto unknown authors and adds his name to their titles and voila! increased sales. Nobody is regulating the publishing industry, and most consumers don't seem to care they're being conned. A good example of the corrupt nature of the publishing industry is the book shown below. You will note the cover suggests it was written by Stephen Humphrey Bogart. It wasn't. It was written by my brother Gary Provost, who died before publication at the age of 50.  Lauren Bacall saw this as a perfect opportunity to promote her son, and being without any honor she did.
