O is for onerous.

Is everybody inflexible today? At 12:30, I ordered a bed from Overstocked.com, my first order. By 3:30, three hours later I had to cancel the order. Simple? No. The clerk—sorry, sales assistant—told me the order had been accepted by the warehouse and there was nothing they could do now. So if the bed arrived, I was to accept it, and then return it. I asked him if he couldn't phone the warehouse and cancel the order. He responded, "That's not procedure." Apparently these days the easiest, most logical, and lease complicated course of action is not procedure; not if it doesn't inconvenience the customer, raise his blood pressure and allow the seller to scam off a few more dollars.
