I love doing crossword puzzles. And more often than not, they are completely correct. But several times I have found an error that is so off the mark, I can't imagine how it originated. The clue that is given is "bespectacled ventriloquist's doll" or dummy. And the answer is "Snerd" as in Mortimer Snerd, one of the popular dummies of Edgar Bergen. But Mortimer was never bespectacled as you can see from this photo. Hmmm. I wonder how many other errors there are that I didn't recognize.
