Not only do Black Lives Matter, but I am beginning to think that black lives may be the salvation of America. It was mostly thanks to blacks that Joe Biden won the election. It was because of the Black vote that Ossoff and Warnock were elected Senators in Georgia and McConnell was finally defeated. More and more black newscasters are getting their own shows, and providing more trenchant news. Network shows are increasingly dependent on the opinions and input of black lawyers, professors, teachers, and working people. More and more blacks are being elected to government positions, including our first female Vice President Kamala Harris, whose background is African-American and South Asian. Blacks are not being given power, they are taking the power to which they were always worthy and entitled. Unfortunately they are gaining power in a divided America, and will face the opposition of a still largely racist society. But I am convinced they are more than up to the challenge.
