Yesterday I called a lifelong friend in Kansas City, Missouri. Since I hadn't spoken to her for so long, I assumed I might in for a scolding. As soon as she realized it was me, she did have an angry,
 scolding tone but not directed at me. Her first words were, "Your governor is an idiot."  I couldn't argue with that.
