COMMERCIAL TALK

Of the new commercials that one is forced to watch a hundred times a day, here are my comments not that anyone asked. The most irritating commercial, bar none is for Secret deodorant, an obnoxious screaming meaningless torment. This is followed by a spot for a worthy company with an irritating sound track, Etsy. For some reason they thought someone repeating in annoying almost-whisper,"express yourself"would be charming rather than channel switching. Then there's Xfinity, who had never done a really good commercial. This one shows a man hiding in a closet watching TV on his phone while his young son runs madly around the house thinking they are playing hide and seek. A parent lying to a child is never amusing. An attractive commercial for Humira features three beautiful black women touring Chicago. Despite that pharmaceutical commercials are too long and run too often.
