Only two people in Congress like Matt Gaetz: Marjorie Taylor Greene and Jim Jordan. Marjorie likes him because she's an addle-pated idiot who delights in being perverse. Jim Jordan likes him or pretends to, because he confided in this slime ball before he knew how vicious he could be. After seeing how Gaetz tried to rope Tucker Carlson into his web, he is terrified of what Gaetz could tell the world about him. Surely someone who denies knowing about the Ohio State scandal and the machinations of Dr. Strauss isn't going to ally himself with another willing molester, this time with girls. So his faux loyalty can only be a sad pretense.
