Recent news reports suggest that our incompetent Governor Ron DeSantis managed to get Publix Supermarkets the profitable vaccine market because of all their donations to his war chest. DeSantis, who can't possibly be as stupid as he looks, denies it, just as he denies jumping the vaccine line in favor of a wealthy northern Florida community. Any reasonable Floridian anticipated this kind of corruption when the pasty-faced DeSantis won the election over his far-more qualified opponent. But then we're used to corrupt politicians like Rick Scott, Marco Rubio, and Matt Gaetz. What is it about Florida that always favors the criminal element? Since I don't drive I'm stuck with going to the nearby Publix, where shopping is definitely not a pleasure despite their slogan to the contrary. What makes it most unpleasant is that, despite their many senior shoppers, they only pipe in the most juvenile and unpleasant noises. (I refuse to call it music).
