TWO OF A KIND.

 I received an e-mail this morning from a group looking for money (what else) to supposedly prevent Donald Trump winning the 2024 election with moron Ron DeSantis as his VP. That is a nightmare scenario, but not likely to happen. If the Department of Justice does its job, and other legal entities around the country do theirs, Trump will be spend all his time in courtrooms or prisons. Puffy-faced DeSantis may remain Governor of Florida, considering how stupid this state is, but I doubt he'll go much further. Even if justice isn't served, recent sightings of Trump show a defeated, delusional, disheveled and increasingly demented dork who does nothing but threaten revenge on the world and whine about his loss. Also keep in mind that what these two losers have in common is that they both totally mishandled the coronavirus situation and are responsible for many thousands of deaths.

MEATHEAD.

It's hard to believe that someone as gullible and stupid as Kevin McCarthy even has a job, much less minority leader. It seems if you just whisper an anti-Democrat rumor within ten feet of him, he's off and running, the hell with fact checks.  Like so many Republicans, he is incapable of independent thinking,but highly capable of spreading lies, no matter how absurd.  Of course Kevin is another one of those party first, country second, traitors who is more eager to vilify President Biden than recognize his superiority to the boob we happily dumped. When is the American public going to realize we are paying these GOP clowns good money to constantly whine and make up pathetically transparent stories?

JUSTICE DENIED IN DROVES,

I'm sure if I committed a serious crime, I would be arrested immediately. So why is Donald Trump, who has committed dozens of serious crimes still la-di-dahing around the country? What happened to all those threats from New York legal authorities? All those lawsuits from molested and raped women? When is the government going to demand their tax payments? When is Trump going to be hauled into court for his part in the January 6 insurrection?  Not only is he not above the law and something must be done about his blatant criminality, but by not being prosecuted the law is allowing his fans to see him as a blameless man of action who still can have control over our lives. He is a criminal, a crime boss, a thug, and needs to face  up to his many crimes. Either the courts who are responsible for bringing this monster to justice move their judicial asses or they give us a clear explanation of why they are taking so long. Michael Cohen has already done jail time for one of Trump's crimes. Why hasn't Trump done time as well?

E. Jean Carroll is just one of the 26 women who have accused Donald Trump of inappropriate sexual conduct. Her charge is the most serious since she insists he raped her in the changing room of New York's Bergdorf Goodman in 1990. Trump denies this as he denies all his crimes. Which is why we need court trials to uncover the truth. How long is the law going to let him hide out?

'THIS SHOULD FOOL THEM."

 Senator Tim Scott, the Republican's token black, is not only a traitor to his country, but a traitor to his people. Last night in his rebuttal to Biden's speech, he called everything that Biden wants to do to help the poor and middle class "socialist dreams". He scoffed at the idea of free college and child care, both of which would greatly benefit the African American community. He suggested that his idol, racist Donald Trump, had already defeated Covid-19, totally ignoring the many thousands who have died since we got rid of Trump and his Clorox solutions.  Plus Scott's very presence as the rebuttal speaker was laughably transparent and reflected the contempt Republicans feel for the people they want to deny the vote. Did they really think having the only black senator attack President Biden would reflect weight instead of hate? Republicans have gone from being obstructive to highly destructive, and it was never more obvious than last night with Tim Scott's totally unreasonable rebuttal. Strangest of all he said, "America is not a racist country," this is super-strange coming from the only black GOP senator who himself is a fan and devotee of the most racist president with which this country has ever been cursed.

AMERICA'S LOUDEST LIAR.

 Kimberly Guilfoyle, the loud-mouthed, girlfriend (can you be a "girl" at 52?) of Donald Trump, Jr. is shooting off her trap again with more falsities. This time she is absurdly reporting that Kamala Harris is the real president and calls all the shots. I imagine since she is the boss in her relationship with the malleable Jr. she assumes all women are pushy Amazons. What I find most fascinating about the Trumps and their parasites, like Kim, is that they never feel any embarrassment at any of the idiotic things they say and their laughable transparent lies. I think I'll try that. I mean making up a story and seeing if it spreads. Here goes. Did you know that  Kimberly Guiilfoyle was born in San Francisco in 1960 as Kirk Guilfoyle and embraced transgenderism at 16, after doing drag shows in the Castro District?

REPEATED FOR A REASON.

While HuffPost has some moderately interesting content, they also do some very weird stuff. For instance I maintain they are obsessed with the word "queer" almost to being homophobic.They often describe perfectly average persons as "queer" an epithet that I can hardly believe most gay persons welcome. But even weirder is a feature they have in which the collator describes as "historic photos". Usually it's one of those irritating Next Traps, in which you could spend an hour clicking "next" after each item. Oddly what HuffPost classifies as "historic" are older photos of women with large busts. Each demeaning collection seems totally out of date in the me-too age, but it keeps appearing every week with new pinups of movie stars and strippers. Oddly it disappears very quickly, as if HuffPost realizes how inappropriate this feature is and leaves it on only long enough for its horniest readers. I am repeating this post from April 17, because today I could copy their idea of a "rare" or "historic" photo, which usually means sexy (to Huff) photos of girls or women. The fact that these girls are Hitler youth makes it very creepy.

 

 What a week! The Sore Loser Party, aka Republicans, is having a mysterious recount event in Arizona. Since the elections were fair they will either admit it, or find a way to lie about the results. I'm betting on the latter. Mark Lindell, America's looniest looney other than Trump, has won a worst picture award. Increasingly frightened and unhinged Tucker Carlson is now yapping that children wearing face masks outside is child abuse. I can't report on Lauren Boebert's madness because she's so incoherent, no one can. Long-over-the- hill Newt Gingrich is still caterwauling about the Rainbow flag being flown at American embassies. And yes, many Americans still admire overweight, unhealthy, paranoid, mendacious, lazy, ignorant, misanthropic, misogynistic, flatulent, impotent and increasingly inarticulate failed president and golf cheat, Delusional Don. And, of course, this week like every week had its share of innocent blacks being murdered by trigger happy cops who mistook a pencil for an assault rifle and refuse to release the body video by hiding behind a crooked judge's skirts.

GRAHAM IS CRACKERS.

Lindsey Graham, you poor daffy closet queen, you think there's no systematic racism in American because Kamala Harris is Vice President. How can you be so bone-chillingly stupid? Kamala Harris is Vice President because there's no racism in President Joe Biden. Now we know that you, as well as your dream man, Donald Trump, are both rabid racists as is—yes my pet—much of America. So, if you don't mind, the part of America that believes in justice for everyone would appreciate if you kept your bigotry to yourself and stopped making such illogical, ill-bred, and unfounded statements.

"Photogenic" is not a word you would use for Ron DeSantis. Neither is bright.

 President Joe Biden sees the display of the Rainbow flag at American embassies as expressing that,"All Americans are created equal, and entitled to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness." Withered, white-crested, impotent, over-the-hill Newt Gingrich sees it as, "attacking people of traditional values." Which is to say narrow minded, intolerant, judgemental people like himself.  But then we always knew that Newt Gingrich was an angry intolerant misanthrope without any human decency. So who gives a damn what he says?

WHO WON? WHO CARES?

I haven't watched the Oscars in years. Not just because of the endless commercial interruptions, but because I have seen very few of the nominated movies and have no interest in doing so. Besides they have fooled me twice by giving "best picture" to two of the most boring films I have ever seen: the incredibly dismal and preposterous The Shape of Water and the annoyingly ordinary Parasite. I am sure today's hip moviegoers will fault me for reminiscing about the days of Roman Holiday, Marty, and Ben Hur when movies were movies. Though we had several undeserving films even then like The Greatest Show on Earth, Around the World in Eighty Days, and Hello, Dolly. Anyway I don't like award shows. There are two many talented people to single out a handful for excessive praise, and far too often the ones receiving the praise and the award are really not the best.

CONSIDER THE ODDS.

Some Supreme Court, number 1 is a heavy drinker and near rapist, number three is a religious zealot, and number five is a do-nothing justice and sexual predator who no-doubt made obscene propositions to Anita Hill. All Republicans, of course.

 

I was very confused when I saw a listing for a Salon article suggesting that Joe Biden not become a Ned Stark. I was not aware of a politician or public figure with that name. Who the hell is Ned Stark? After doing some research I discovered he is a fictional character on Game of Thrones. Are we now stepping out of reality to compare our President to an imaginary character on a show not everybody watches on a pay-TV channel not everyone can afford? This is lunacy. Will we soon be comparing presidential IQ to Sheldon Leonard? Or wondering why our physicians aren't as motivated as those on popular hospital shows. I encourage author Melanie McFarland and others to deal with real world people and real world problems when discussing the real world.

Newt Gingrich is a meaningless nothing. A cipher. As insignificant as the salamander he was named for. In his recent unhinged rant, he accused President Biden of being unAmerican. In his bitter bias he chooses to ignore Biden's empathy (of which Newt has none) for all Americans. He dismisses Biden's attempt to have every American vaccinated. And he seems to not understand that Biden's infrastructure is to improve America, not Putin's Russia, nor Assad's Syria, America. Yet Newt rants and rants about Biden being unAmerican for no actual reason other than Gingrich himself is an insignificant and unpatriotic remnant of a bygone era whose own homophobic outrage resents that  Biden has allowed the rainbow flag to fly proudly in our embassies. Newt like so many other Republican losers misses having Trump, a low-quality piece of refuse like himself  in power. So rant and lie and hiss 

all you want you worthless lower-case newt. Joe Biden is the best thing to happen to America and fortunately more and more Americans are realizing what a difference a man with a heart makes.

Despite being a copywriter for 45 years, I hate commercials. Firstly because there are far too many of them. Secondly because they are mostly not very clever. And third because, along with annoying sales pitches, they deliver stupid messages. Several, like Kraft and Oreida suggest that parents indulge their petulant children by replacing starch and cheese over healthier fare. "It's the easiest because it's the cheesiest." In the Alexa commercial a father dramatically searches for all the answers to his lazy daughter's homework assignment. If that weren't bad enough, he also pretends to know the answers. Then of course there are dozens of commercials in which people lie to each other or lie to us about the efficacy of a medication or its miraculous weight-reduction virtues.  Of course my most hated remains the ubiquitous Prevagen commercials in which seemingly respectable people lie through their teeth about the virtues of a very costly placebo. 

I'm beginning to wonder if there isn't another virus floating around: The Stupidity Virus. It seems to be spreading and affecting only Republicans. The two most severe cases are Ron Johnson who refuses to get vaccinated and Rand Paul who, in his delirium, suggested that President Biden burn his mask as an "inspiration" to other Americans.

FOX'S FAVORITE FISHWIFE.

It would appear that Laura Ingraham has finally lost all sense of reason, which will not stop Fox from letting her rant her racist madness. She now claims in her lunacy that the  greatest threat to America is President Biden! Apparently she sees peril in a President that cares about every citizen, even nuts like her. I guess she would prefer that he didn't worry about vaccinating blacks, giving relief to orientals, and trying to provide safety and security for Hispanics, but instead concentrate all his energy on white supremacist like her.. Not gonna happen, bitch. The woman is mad, operating on sheer hatred, praising a misanthropist like Trump, but decrying a humanitarian like Biden.Years from now the Fox Network with it's collection of white nationalists, racists, bigots, liars, and whacko revisionists will be studied in universities as Nazism is studied now. And Laura Ingraham will be far more vilified than Eva Braun, and she didn't even sleep with her dictator.

A BARRAGE OF BRAINLESS TRUMPETTES

What a coincidence! Amanda Chase, who is running for Virginia's governor says that the Derek Chauvin verdict "makes me sick"  and Amanda Chase herself makes me sick. I find it nauseating that so many Republicans are opposed to justice and try to suggest that the murder we saw with our own eyes never happened.  Especially offensive are the female clones like Chase who all look and think alike which is to say they don't actually think at all. (I wonder of the Bundy verdict made her sick) Amanda is a ridiculous person in the mode of Tomi Lauren., Laura Trump, and all the indistinguishable Kayleighs, Kellyannes and other kooks who surrendered their brains years ago to their dominant daddy and  cannot tell fact from fiction or choose not to. Virginia is a lovely state that that has far too many Trumpists like the asinine Amanda Chase trying to brainwash it. Let us hope they give her the same kind of heave-ho that Georgia wisely gave to Kelly Loeffler, another self-serving Trumpette clone.

I'm so glad Ted Nugent is not getting the covid vaccine and support him 100% in his idiotic decision, I will be much more comfortable knowing that he is likely to contract the virus again and most likely from some Republican fan as stupid as he is. I am also delighted that he has had a bad bout of the virus, which I hope will leave him with permanent problems. Think I'm being petty? I am, but consider this. The virus has only been with us about a year. But before that Nugent was spreading his vile support of living virus Donald Trump for af least four years. It's time to catch up.

It's sad and a little bit scary that so many conservative pundits are offended by the Chauvin verdict. Being racists they think it's perfectly reasonable to murder a black man for passing one counterfeit bill. Just as they are not bothered by the many other killings of black American citizens at the hands of trigger-happy or knee-happy cops. And of course they are up in arms about Maxine Waters comments, which they have revised to suit their own interpretations, and President Biden's comments which they have pretended to find inflammatory. How sad it is that while most of the country feels this verdict is the possible beginning of a new era of fairness and conscience, these sad, empty-souled conservative bigots are so bitter at being exposed to justice.

 I see where the still delusional Republicans of Ohio want to rename Mosquito Lake Park in honor of Trump. While it is fitting that an annoying useless insect and Trump have a lot in common, this seems like a bad idea. Actually naming anything after Trump is a bad idea. As he becomes increasingly recognized for his crimes, he becomes more despised, even by Republicans. Any sign bearing his loathsome  name is sure to be subject to vandalism and become a popular public urinal, not a fate to which a serene state park should be subjected. So until these still brainwashed Ohioans regain their senses, I suggest they hold off on attaching  the reviled name of Trump to anything.

ONE REASON THE SENATE SMELLS SO BAD.

Josh Hawley, being a rabid racist, wants to censure Maxine Waters. Like his hero Trump he is eager to find a situation that draws attention from Hawley's  own missteps, like helping  to create the Capitol riot, where he proved  himself a traitor to American values. Hopefully he will face trial soon. In the meantime he hopes he can hide behind Maxine Waters' skirts, which he can't. Today's ruling was a great victory for democracy, an ideal that Josh Hawley has no interest in. Hopefully this victory will lead to greater achievements in law, like the reversal of the voter suppression law in Georgia. With our new-found pride in American justice it's time to take out the trash, including Hawley, Dietz. Boebert, Greene, Jordan and too many others to mention. Look at this slimeball's completely insincere, arrogant face.

Before I was banned from Twitter for calling a bitchy Fox star a bitch, I recall that Marco Rubio was forever quoting Bible verses. How hypocritical is that from a  pseudo-Christian who constantly praises Trump, despite Donald's complete lack of morals. It only proves that Rubio is a shameless opportunist who will do whatever it takes for him to be reelected (which we hope doesn't happen). Though Rubio has vilified Trump in the past he now seems to be solidly in the Russian colluder's corner since he foolishly believes that is an advantageous place to be. I'm sure Rubio will do another pathetic about-face with Trump's first conviction

JUST WHEN

 Just when women are gaining greater respect, being recognized for their achievements, and contributions to society. Just when women athletes are achieving higher compensation; women pilots proving their excellence; female soldiers exhibiting outstanding courage, and women in every field of endeavor demonstrating their equality and often superiority, along come these two bimbos.

Among the many hypocritical Republican senators who constantly prove and prove again what morons they are, John Cornyn stands out. He's the pale white 6' Texan who spent four years kissing Trump's ass, but suddenly is critical of everything President Biden does. Though, being a a super jerk, he tries to pretend that his bitchiness is really concern, which nobody believes. News watchers will remember him as the glum silent standby who was always present at every Trump event, but never said anything. Fortunately for him, he's a Senator for the only state that can stomach his do-nothingness. Since he rarely says anything of import, we are in no danger of him ever being a person of significance. Also at 69, he often appears to have slipped into early senility. But being a Republican racist and coward, we can expect more fraudulent attacks on President Biden since Cornyn is not a country-first patriot but a party-first troublemaker.

THE PEACOCK PUZZLEMENT.

For some inexplicable and bizarre reason the City of Miami has designated peacocks as a protected species. This is very odd since peacocks are not indigenous to Miami or Florida and they are a pain in the ass. Peacocks, whose numbers are growing, travel in gangs. These gangs defecate on your property, steal your outdoor pets' food, and often strut on your roof disturbing the tiles, or jump on your car leaving evidence of their visit. But worst of all, and most unforgivable is that while a rooster crows with the dawn, peacocks scream all night long. They have a piercing howl that can sound like a terrorized cat, an abandoned baby, and even a woman being assaulted. Their howls would put any clock alarm to shame, and it could come at any time. I have met people who just love peacocks. I would guess they live in apartment buildings. Because these birds are a bane to homeowners. And if you picture the peacocks with their tails fanned out in a glorious display, forget it. That is a rare event. You are more likely to see a gang of peahens in the middle of the street, holding up traffic.

THE PHONE FROM HELL

If you're a senior Luddite like me, considering a simple phone like Consumer Cellular, forget it. You might as well go with a smart phone since Consumer Cellular has become so complex that it's maddening. I bought a new Consumer Cellular phone today. It looks like my old one, but it's far more complicated and I have just spent an hour trying to type in the first address, for which I was unsuccessful.  They say you can call them for guidance at 611. Just try it. They may not answer at all, or tell you they are so busy, expect a long wait. Consumer Cellular like every other technology company today keeps "improving" their products. In this case "improving" means complicating, adding more steps, requiring more additions, using more clever made-up words, and making it impossible for persons, like me, who are not technologically savvy to use any of their products with ease. They assume, stupidly, that everyone is great with electronics, just as they assume that every person in America has a computer. They're not and they don't.  I am going back for another round with my new Consumer Cellular phone. But I think it's more likely it will go back to Target, or get smashed against the nearest brick wall.

ONE OF SO MANY SERIOUS DANGERS.

I fail to understand why a democratic country like ours allows an insurrectionist and liar like Josh Hawley to remain in office after he encouraged the assault on the nation's Capitol that resulted in so many deaths. I fail to understand why we tolerate the ravings of a mentally deficient shrew like Marjorie Taylor Greene and let her keep her position despite her fury and ravings. Why does America permit so many destructive people to hold office when it is obvious their goals are to destroy and weaken our country? Why do we maintain a do-nothing obstructive Republican senate; allow a miserable old codger like McConnell to call the shots for an entire nation; permit a trigger-happy harridan like Boebert to spew her lies; turn a blind eye to a demented doctor like Rand Paul as he creates his own arrogant fantasies of reality; and a let a snake like Cruz hiss his constant venom? Why do we overlook the corruption and deceit of modern-day Goebbels and the still toxic control of an should-be-imprisoned Trump? True, we want to remain noble, and honest, fair and decent. But it our virtues that will destroy us.  We may be goodhearted, kind, and tolerant of others, but these people are not, and we have got to stop allowing them to  poison our country.

THE GREAT LITHIUM LIE.

In the past ten years, I've spent a fortune on vacuum cleaners, none of which I still have. Why? Because I fell for an advertising ploy that was a fraud. I bought the words "cordless" and "lithium battery" to be  true. Each vacuum cleaner (Shark, Black and Decker, Hoover) pushed those words which I thought would make life easier with no cumbersome cords and a long-lasting, powerful battery.  But each battery wimped out after about three cleanings and required a replacement immediately. It was a little like buying the vacuum cleaner again and again. To make it worse there was no place to buy the costly battery other than on the internet, which I hate to do. So I eventually smartened up and threw all these vacuums in the trash, Now I will only buy appliances that have electric cords on them. Sadly they long ago stopped making the best electric vacuum: the Regina Electrik Broom, which gave me years and years of trouble-free service.

NOT A HINT OF LOGIC

Probably the dumbest, least thought out commercial on the air  today is for a another costly flavored water called called Hint. In this absurd scenario the local firemen have filled their engine with various Hint flavors which they hose their co-workers who have to guess the flavor. I have great respect for fire fighters and find it offensive to see them portrayed as such juvenile idiots who are using their life-savings equipment to play a guessing game. If you even seek to find an iota of logic in this stupid commercial, consider this: at the high price of Hint water, it would cost thousands to fill the fire engine tank, which would be totally wasted if these morons had to actually fight a fire.

 Ted Cruz says he will no longer wear a mask at the Capitol. On behalf of the American people, I am begging you to change your mind. I can only assume how poorly both the house and Senate will perform if they have to look at your liver-lipped ugly face.

Why are Republicans all so juvenile and bitchy when it comes to politics? The wimpy insignificant Steve Scalise (whose only claim to fame was being shot) is sniping at Kamala Harris about her plans to visit Mexico and Guatemala. Still suffering brain damage from his shooting, he is not very clear in his complaint, but that doesn't stop him from whining and nattering. I tell you the Republican side of the House is become more and more like a day care center. To prove what a jerk he is, Scalise showed up at the Capitol with a milk carton with a photo of Harris as MIA. (Your tax dollars at work.) It fell flat of course, just as any fifteen-year old cliche is sure to do. Funny how the outraged and twitchy Scalise had no complaints when Trump was shredding the country.

NOT ANYTHING.

 Recently Trump attacked the Republicans. The Republicans are surprised. Why? Trump is not a Republican. He is not a Democrat. His is not a Christian, not a father, nor a husband, not anything. Trump is a self-centered creature without a soul, whose only reality is his own importance. He was the spoiled scion of a wealthy father, who once he was given millions of dollars lost all sense of reality and humanity. He saw women as prey, men as suckers, wives as proof of his virility, property as status. He had no friends other than suckups. No children other than obsequious parasites. No businesses other than grifting opportunities. He was a successful manipulator until Putin manipulated him, then his madness began to show. The presidency was his downfall. While he still had many ignorant, gullible worshippers, the majority saw his weak insignificance. Being a one-term president made him aware of his nothingness. Now his is a cipher pathetically complaining about an imagined rigged election, while lawsuits swirl around him, his madness more evident than ever. Like any mad dog, he'll bite anyone who comes near.

GOING FOR BROKE.

Am I alone in thinking it's tacky for Rooms to Go running commercials that encourage people to spend their covid relief payments on new furniture? These generous checks were sent to Americans because they are in need of food, rent, and the payment of other daily expenses. Rooms to Go is encouraging us to waste that extra cash on furniture that can wait until times are better, (and these days $1,400 doesn't even buy most mattresses). Covid relief checks are not like Christmas bonuses: extra cash during a time of steady employment. They are welcome funds during a period of need, and how they are used should be taken seriously as we are not out of the woods yet.

ANOTHER RACIST KILLING.

Well Minneapolis has done it again. Last night police officers from Brooklyn Center murdered 20-year-old Daunte Wright.  Daunte, who was pulled over for a traffic violation (the most popular excuse) didn't totally obey these arrogant assholes, so they killed him. Then these stormtrooper were surprised that the citizens of Minneapolis protested their brainless action. Who does the hiring for these police forces? They seem to have a plethora of sadistic, trigger-happy morons. 

THE COURT JESTER

Interesting, Rand Paul wants two senators removed because they don't totally agree with his draconic rules for society. How surprising that they are both women: Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski. Apparently our curly-headed eye doctor feels threatened because they don't share his view on socialized medicine, and being a hard-assed chauvinist fanatic, it has to be his way or nothing, especially with women.  Paul, as we all know, is more noted for causing trouble than actually achieving anything. So here he is once again, stirring the pot, pursing his lips in petulant outrage,  creating a tempest in a teacup. I tell you this clown is so annoying and full of anger, I can't even watch Danny Kaye movies any more without seeing Rand's idiocy.

DUMB AS THEY COME.

If Americans should want another president as crooked and ignorant as Trump, there's one waiting in the wings: Ron De Santis. Like his hero Trump, Ron is responsible for lots of Florida deaths with this open-everything policy during the most dangerous days of Covid. Being corrupt like Trump, he reaped some huge political donations by helping his rich contributors jump the vaccination line. And he made sure that his super generous supporters Publix were given the lucrative vaccine distribution rights. Since his election, DeSantis has proven himself naive, selfish, incompetent and self-serving. He's just the kind of bone-head stupid governor that Florida prefers. But fortunately most of the rest of the country has more sense.

SHAME ON WINDSOR, VA

I am delighted that Second Lieutenant Caron Nazario, a member of the U.S. Army Medical Corps is suing two officers of the Windsor, Virginia, Police Force for racially profiling him. First of all they pulled him over on some souped up charge, probably because they didn't think a black man should drive a new Chevy Tahoe. When Nazario wouldn't kowtow to every irrational request, these sadistic buffoons pepper sprayed him, kneed him, handcuffed him and threatened to bring charges against him. The souped up charge? That he was driving without a license. That's because they were too stupid to see the temporary license taped to the window of his new car. I can only hope that Windsor, Virginia, or the officers themselves pay a huge price for this disgracefully unlawful behavior, and that these two arrogant morons lose their jobs and end up as short order cooks at a Waffle House.

WHAT HAPPENED TO BREAD?

I have a loaf of bread in the kitchen. I bought it weeks ago. But if I take out several slice of bread, they are  soft and fresh, as fresh as they were the day I bought the loaf. Why? Growing up, bread was a food that got stale and hard. Why has that changed? Now if I take the still-fresh bread in the kitchen and toast it, it becomes like cardboard: dry, tasteless, and nothing like the toast of decades past. I am just getting used to Half & Half that seems to last for months. Has bread also been treated to last for months, and is the price we pay for that longevity tastelessness? Now the bread in the kitchen is Pepperidge Farm White Sandwich, but during the pandemic I have purchased other brands and they all have the same flaws: long-lasting, less flavorful and disastrous as toast. I guess it never occurred to me that manufacturers can alter any of their products to have a longer shelf life without asking our permission. Still I hate to think that from now on toast will have the texture and flavor of Styrofoam.

REMINDER.

For some unknown reason most people are still saying, "the reason why". The why is not necessary and never has been. The reason is the reason and doesn't need a superfluous why to make it any more respectable. 

OFFENSIVE CLICHE.

HuffPost is generally well  written except for certain fixations. For instance they seem especially fond of the word "queer" which I find offensive and insulting no matter how many gay men mistakingly think of it as acceptable. Aside from that, today they wrote what I consider a truly stupid description of a father in distress. When President Biden, in a Rose Garden speech, referred to Fred Guttenberg's daughter Jaime who was as killed in a the Parkland school shooting, Mr. Guttenberg cried. HuffPost described it as, "cried like a baby" an idiotic and demeaning use of a cliche that bears no resemblance to a still-bereaved father overcome with heartbreak. Fred Guttenberg is a major activist for greater gun safety and only a hack writer would describe this respected man's sorrow in such infantile terms.

TRUE OR FALSE? AND WHO CARES?

While I don't buy Trump's nonsense about "Fake News" I do think there is a lot of stupid news floating around, comments that should not be reported and shame on those who distribute questionable comments. Today, for instance, Meghan McCain's husband Ben Domenech says his wife did not vote for Joe Biden.  First of all, I don't think that is information he has a right to reveal, and secondly I don't think it's true. While Ms. McCain has been very critical of Biden on The View, I think her anger is recent and take her at her word that she voted for Biden. And even if she didn't, she certainly didn't vote for Trump. We all have seen that Meghan McCain has a temper and I suspect it will be used on her blabber-mouth hubby.

P.S. What is especially galling is that the news outlets reported Domenech's "revelation" as if it were true without any further checking. That is lousy reporting. 

I read today that White Evangelicals stuck byTrump during the last election. But this is totally untrue. Because anyone who is a true evangelical supposedly believes in Christ and the teachings of Christ. Therefore they couldn't believe in Trump and the teachings of Trump. Thus, like Trump, they are liars. They could only be amoral frauds pretending to be evangelicals, or persons so stupid they don't know what evangelicals are.What true evangelicals are not are serial sinners like Trump, philanderers, liars, cheats, grifters, and—considering the January 6 riot—participants in murder. Sadly, there are millions of delusional hypocrites running around pretending to be devout Christians while having no moral code, no standard for behavior and no allegiance to the teachings of the Bible. Donald Trump is the least moral man in our society. There are millions of people who can claim they are Trump fans. What they cannot claim is that there are Christians.

FOX DOESN'T GET IT.

 The mistake Fox TV makes is that they think attacking people is funny. It isn't. Which is why Greg Gutfield's show is such a bomb.  Republicans are so paranoid that they think all the liberal comedy shows are just attacking them. They're not. All the liberal comedy shows present the facts, and do it with wit and perspective.  It's the truth that's funny and weird and often hilarious. But when dullards like Gutfield presents material that isn't true it just falls flat. Just saying insulting things about Biden that have no reality  lacks humor. Even the most dyed-in-the -wool Republicans can see that. A president like Trump, who lies constantly, cheats on his wives, is illiterate, and a cheap and vulgar braggart gives you lots of material for sendups. A president who's honest, hard-working and fights for your relief checks and your place in the vaccine line is just not funny, no matter hard Gutfield tries to spin it. Spite and malice are not good comedy tools, they just ain't. Sadly Fox only knows nasty.

'LET'S PUT ON A SHOW."

Since the Republicans in Washington do so little work these days, they are planning to a special production of The Wizard of Oz at the Lincoln Memorial.  Everyone is invited with no masks or distancing required. The cast so far features: Ted Cruz as the Cowardly Lion, Tom Cotton as the Scarecrow, John Corwyn as the Tin Man, and who else but Marjorie Taylor Greene as the Wicked Witch of the West? The Munchkins will be played by the children of Republicans as will the evil monkeys wearing Mitch McConnell masks.  Unfortunately they cannot find any Republican appealing enough to play Dorothy, though Lindsey Graham insists he could carry it off. (Matt Gaetz recommended his teen-aged girlfriend.) While the show is still in production they are trying to get Donald Trump to play The Wizard, but he keeps flubbing his lines and had a hissy fit because he thought the song,"If I Only Had a Brain"was an attack on him.

A STANDUP STANDOUT.

What the Republican Party needs to come back to life and relevance is more Adam Kinzingers. That is to say a true Republican who cares more about his country than his party. He had the courage to vote for Trump's impeachment, and has the courage to be the first Republican to suggest Gaetz should resign. Not only is he noted for being a bipartisan representative, but he is also handsome, honest and a true patriot - a rarity in house crowded with GOP geeks, senior citizens, traitors, wimps, and the intensely unqualified.

THE PAIN OF ROKU

I hate the internet. Because so many companies I depend on hide there. Roku for example. They refuse to give you a phone number, though they promise they will, but don't. So they expect me to leap through all kinds of technological hoops to regain the service that they took away for no good reason. Suddenly, for no apparent reason, I can no longer access Netfllix or Acorn. I am sure I could be reinstated if I spent hours dealing with them, creating a new password that satisfies their sick need for a complicated code. But at 78, I can''t be bothered, so unless they realize the stupid thing they've done, no more Roku for me. I am sure they could have thousands of more profitable customers if they made signing up easier and instead of hiding out in the complex maze of the Internet, they got a phone number that anyone could call and expect an answer and help from a real live, breathing person. But I don't expect that to happen. It's too logical. 

MARJORIE TAYLOR GRENADE.

I found Matt Gaetz creepy from the first time I saw him. So it's no surprise that he turns out to be an arrogant degenerate weirdo who is sure to face criminal charges. I feel the same way about Marjorie Taylor Greene. This ditz is so unhinged that, like Matt whom she defends, she is sure to get into a real mess one of these days. People who walk around with so much conceit and so much hate are destined for self-destruction. Let's just hope when Marjorie loses her final marbles she doesn't hurt any innocent people.

 

Poor Matt Gaetz. He's the only actual person I know who has the same head to body proportions as a Bobble-head figure. 

MEN CAN BE BIMBOS, TOO.

Apparently it's true that the nut doesn't fall far from the tree. Just look at Peter Doocy the scatterbrained son of equally delusional Steve Doocy, the dippy guy whose career has been spent gossiping on a sofa. How these nitwits get to even call themselves journalists is beyond me. One has only to see Peter's mindless questions to the ever-patient Jen Psaki to appreciate how not ready for prime time Petey is.
