Last night I was pleased to see the restored version of one of my favorite (if not my favorite) film: D.O.A.  Interestingly this superb noir film was panned by some critics when it first was shown in 1949. In later years it has been hailed as a classic of the genre, and rightly so. I won't bore you with this details: the plot, the actors, the director, the setting etc. But I will encourage anyone who loves old films, especially film-noir, to see D.O.A. if they get the chance.
