Scott Roe, a Covid patient in Louisiana,  was asked by CBS News David Begnaud, "Before you got sick, if you would have had a chance to get the vaccine and prevent this, would you have taken the vaccine?" The fact that Roe said "no" is supposed to surprise me since it's such a stupid and possibly suicidal response. But what really suprised me is that CBS hired Begnaud, a reporter with so little command of the English language that he would use such ignorant phrasing. "Would have" is totally incorrect; "if you had" is all that was needed.
