AMERICA IN DANGER.

 America is in deep shit. The Republican Party of Trump is a great and growing danger. This insane recount in Arizona is treason pure and simple. The new voting laws created by Republicans are a threat to our long held and admired democracy. The Big Lie is the most toxic propaganda possible and Trump himself is a modern-day Hitler with far too many goose-stepping followers. We have never had leaders as immoral and unAmerican as McConnell and  McCarthy and all their obstructionist lemmings. We are in danger, real danger. The only way we can save our country is for those who identify as Republicans to accept that today's GOP is a treasonous masquerade out to do all Americans harm. America's blacks must accept that they, more than anyone, have the power to intimidate these immoral law makers and clearly show their strength in numbers. We must immediately cease pretending that we have a bipartisan government and accept that we are at war with a mysterious anti-American force led by an insane dictator with an agenda that is not clear to us but could be fatal. These new voting laws must be defeated and exposed. Democrats have got to stop being wimps and start being intellectual warriors. In declining to create a committee to investigate the January 6 Insurrection, the Republican Party has expressed its solidarity of hate against the United States of America and we cannot let this pass.

A VOICE IN THE WILDERNESS.

No surprise that most of Moscow Mitch's minions voted against investigating the January 6 insurrection. (One can only wonder what Mitch is afraid will turn up.) But for a moment forget the huge mob of violent protestors. Let's talk about one woman: Gladys Sicknick. She went to the Capitol to entreat them to investigate the January 6 insurrection at which her son son Brian was brutally beaten and later died. She talked with each one of the recalcitrant Republican Senators, hoping they would vote for an inquiry. Hers was an act of incredible courage and faith. Sadly her effort failed. Wormy Mitch McConnell commanded his cadre of cowards to vote against the probe and Mrs. Sicknick was left knowing they didn't give a damn about the death of her son or the destruction of the Capitol. Mitch McConnell is a very evil old man.

JUGHEAD

Why is it always the wimpy, whiny sissies like Matt Gaetz who attempt to talk tough. Here is a spoiled rich  kid who has never known need other than the need to pay for sex because he's so weird. The only friends he can muster are other dismal misfits like sexually conflicted Jim Jordan and rubber room candidate Majorie Greene. His recent Silicon Valley threat of violence was so pathetic and meaningless from this wimp that he is once-again the biggest joke in the media. With his giant head, sunken eyes and constant anger he is already a creature to be avoided, yet he keeps making himself even more repulsive.

PLAY BALL!

If Trump won the election as America's delusional claim then it would mean he had the majority of the votes. He didn't. Let last night's display at Yankee Stadium be a lesson to all you Trumpists. A bunch of goons lowered a huge banner that said that Trump Won. It was greeted with universal boos, the vast majority of fans giving it the finger. And when it was removed there were tumultuous cheers and the two idiot unfurlers were ejected. Just like the rest of America, the crowd showed disgust and disdain for Trump who lost the election and lost decisively and proved to be the sorest of losers as he keeps whimpering and whining that he won, a fantasy his lame brain cannot overcome. What a moronic choice of venues, a baseball stadium where they understand winning. Until Trump came along we never knew that stupid was contagious.

SORRY WRONG NUMBER.

Consumer Cellular promotes themselves as the friend to the senior citizen. They offer less complex phones for less money and supposedly provide excellent service. Recent I bought one of their newer flip phones at Target, being a senior at 78, I expected nothing but convenience. Hah! The first problem was the super-loud Amber alert at 8am. Apparently they wanted me to respond to a kidnapping two hundred miles away. It went off three times, as if to chide me for not immediately getting dressed and leaping into the Batmobile. Then there were the notifications. Loud rings as many as ten times a day that suggested I should press the middle "notifications" button, which led to nothing. To rid myself of these annoying "features" I called Consumer Cellular, not once but six times. Each time a different cheerful person was  eager to help me by removing everything I didn't want. They all failed. I finally schlepped back to Target where the CC clerk was helpful, but didn't solve the problem either. So now I am stuck with a phone that screams out amber alters and rings for no apparent reason ten times a day. I still prefer it to a so-called smart phone. If this simple phone is this much trouble, imagine how complex a smarter phone would be.

 How can America survive when we have so any idiots like Brian Kemp in charge? How did so many bigots and illiterates get elected to office? Marjorie may be the most unhinged, but every day on the news there's a new official, mostly Republican, who can't speak properly, think logically, or behave normally. 

SMILE IF YOU KNOW YOU'RE NUTS.

The trouble with mental cases like Marjorie Taylor Greene is they don't feel embarrassment or shame. Any attention to them is good attention. So even when they are reviled for idiotic comments all they know is it's about them and that's good enough. Trump suffers from a similar madness. Except recently the courts have added intense and constant fear to his mania. I don't know what causes the bizarre mental condition of so many Republican senators. Being educated, they can't truly believe that Trump won the election, so something secret is propelling their need to lie in unison. Probably fear as well, even though they are making their futures cloudier by pretending to believe the unbelievable. I always wonder what their spouses and children think when they see these Senators being such liars and traitors, ripping up the fabric of our democracy, and pissing all over their family's futures by giving any kind of respect to maniacs like Donald John Trump and Marjorie Taylor Greene.

"WE'LL BE BACK RIGHT AFTER THIS BREAK."

A lot of cable networks are very worried.  They know they can't get away with so many commercials forever. And more and more advertisers are aware that their costly commercials are not even being seen as more and more viewers record their shows and skip the commercials. Some networks are even apologizing for the plethora of boring ads they are forced to run to stay in business. Ari Melber on MSNBC brags about "out shortest commercial." Some news shows stream how long the break will last. The number of commercials is bad enough, but there's a new trend of running the same spot two and even three times. Making it even worse is that most commercials are poorly conceived and badly produced. Does anyone really love the irrelevant Emu or ubiquitous Gecko? Out of curiosity, I have counted as many as 14 commercials in a break, often so run together you can't even get a clear idea of what's being promoted.My solution?  During most commercial breaks, I switch to a commercial-free network like PBS or TCM. But even they are beginning to present more promotions which, let's face it, are commercials.

Follow up. Ironically just now while watching Meet the Press with Chuck Todd, he said the news continues on MSNBC right after this break. "This break" turned out to be four commercials, two of them the same commercial for City Furniture.

MORE THAN IGNORANT, EVIL.

Marjorie Taylor Greene's previous comments proved that she was unread, ignorant and slightly unhinged. Her most recent attack on Nancy Pelosi, comparing a mask mandate to the holocaust shows that she is completely insane and should be removed from Congress and rushed to the nearest asylum.  This harridan is an embarrassment to our nation and I would say to the Congress except the Republicans are major embarrassments without Greene's help. Has someone sat down with this raging nutcase and asked her to explain how she can relate a simple request for health protection to an evil plot to destroy millions of men,women and children? This recent insanity cannot be overlooked or forgiven. This woman must be removed before spitting out any more venom. This is the face of a very dangerous madwoman, who will not get saner with time.

As a lifelong Democrat, at 78 I can say I have never considered voting for a Republican. Especially these days when so many of them seem to be traitors to their country and out to destroy the democracy that made them rich and made most of us safe and free. Given the option I would exile creatures like McConnell, McCarthy, Paul, Cruz, and a dozen other Trump-loyal Quislings to an island in Antartica. This said, I have to admit for the first time in my life I have come to admire a Republican who seems to be a true American patriot and a seeker of truth. So if Adam Kinzinger were on the ballot against a Democrat, I would have to think twice.

IMMUNE TO REASON.

Rand Paul, being an idiot, says he won't get the covid vaccine. To add to his stupidity, he announces this to the world. This should do wonders for his optical business. There's nothing like being face to face with a vaccine-phobic eye doctor. It's truly amazing to me that Americans have put in office so many negative, obstructive morons who take stands on the damnedest things. I wonder if curly-top would have opposed the small pox vaccine, the polio vaccine, and treatments for measles, ebola,etc. It's a pity nobody has come up with a vaccine for Republicanitis for which so many are afflicted.

ONE DOWN, ONE TO GO.

It seems that two of the guards responsible for watching Jeffrey Epstein have admitted to skipping their rounds and even being asleep on the job. This supposedly allowed Epstein to commit suicide, which I doubt he did. I am convinced that Epstein was murdered to keep him from telling everything he knows about Trump, Dershowitz, Clinton and others. Epstein had millions in bribe money, and hadn't even gone to trial yet. He was an arrogant, "I can get away with anything" survivor and very unlikely to have taken his life, especially so early in the game. No way he was suicidal. He could afford the sharpest lawyers, any number of payoffs and any number of bribes. But the men who enjoyed his teen-aged girls couldn't afford to take a chance on a tell-all plea deal, and since the highly corrupt Bill Barr had control over Jeffrey's prison and was devoted to Epstein's pal Donald Trump the convenient laxity at the prison is no surprise. It's also not a surprise that the two guards got very light sentences, considering their behavior caused a man's death by suicide or—more likely—murder.

P.S. Epstein's pimp Ghislaine Maxwell has yet to go to trial. I wonder how many secrets she'll reveal to gain a lighter sentence.

RAFAEL THE RIDICULOUS.

I find it hilarious that Ted Cruz actually thinks he could be President of the United States. I doubt that America's veterans and on-duty service people, especially woman, would vote for someone who says the Russian army is better than ours and is such a chauvinist about females in service. Add to that that this lazy slug was too cowardly to join a service himself. Like Trump, Cruz has no character. He didn't defend his wife against Trump's insults. He didn't defend his father against Trump's insane accusations. And he hasn't defended his country against January 6 Insurrectionists. And he sure didn't give a damn if Texans were powerless and freezing. This is a greasy, sloppy lump of a man totally lacking in character and charisma. He's not honest, not liked even by his contemporaries, and certainly not photogenic. He didn't have a lot of cards to begin with, and he played what few he did have all wrong. Maybe the Russians will hire him as a press agent.

 Since the beginning of America, blacks have been afraid of white supremacist authority figures. It's time to make white supremacist authority figures afraid of blacks.

Don't news people realize they can be seen at any time during a press conference? I ask because while watching President Biden's press conference with South Korean president Moon Jae-In, two  observers were happily chewing gum which did nothing to make them look attentive or professional.

In a May 19th tweet, Marjorie Taylor Greene wrote, "In the Swamp, no one is ever held accountable and no one ever goes to jail." This pearl of wisdom from the Creature from the Black Lagoon herself. It probably never occurred to this slimy shrew that no one goes to jail because Republicans fight any attempts at justice, such as a hearing on the Insurrection. Hopefully some day creatures like Greene will face prison time. Ironically she already looks like a dikey dame in a woman's pen, and her stupid and frequent missteps suggest her likelihood to commit some crime, unwittingly or not. Anyway thanks for the heads up Margie. We're guessing you were referring to criminals like Hawley, Dietz, Boebert and, most of all, yourself.

CIRCLE OF DECEIT.

Today America is cheering, or should be, for Katie Porter. With her White Board of Justice and chutzpah she has exposed the ages-old lie that high prescription prices are caused by high research and development costs. With a few pieces of paper, she showed us that high prices are caused by greed as we always suspected. Her main target was Richard Gonzalez, CEO of AbbVie. Greedy Gonzalez who made $24 million in salary last year wants even more, so the company raised the cost of the drug Humira by over 470% since 203. Katie clearly showed that such increases have nothing to do with R&D, but are inspired by those who worship money and care nothing for those who are sick and dying. Anyone who knows someone who relies on costly pharmaceuticals—which is everyone—should be very grateful that we have a hard-headed, soft-hearted warrior like Katie giving hell to America's robber barons.

 Eric, Eric, Eric. I've told you so often and you don't listen. Don't try to be clever, you always fail. You just have no sense of timing or appropriateness. Your recent tale about strangers coming up to you and crying is such an obvious lie. First of all they couldn't get close to you with the Secret Service men protecting you and costing we taxpayers a fortune. And if they weren't there, who would recognize you? You look like a million other geeks. Besides pretty soon, all your father's crimes and some of yours will be public knowledge so you may not want strangers getting anywhere near you, if you know what I mean. Of course you don't, I'm suggesting they may want to hurt you. So keep a low profile, okay?

TASTELESS CAMPAIGN.

First of all Liberty Mutual commercials are annoying to begin with. There is nothing amusing or charming about LiMu Emu or Doug, but they have reached a new low with their cookout commercial. The boring spot ends with Doug asking the witless gimmick if she prefers "hot dog or chicken?" Since an Emu is a bird as is a chicken, that would suggest that LiMu is a cannibal, willing to eat one of its own species. Since these commercials seem to lack any thought, I assume cannibalism never occurred to the ad agency.

A COUNTRY OF PRUDES.

 When it comes to sex, Americans are the most ignorant, backward, moralistic, judgemental people in the world. I am furious that the press and others are attacking Bill Gates for some meaningless affair or past indiscretion. This a man who has spent billions of his dollars to fight diseases throughout the world; a major donor to campaigns against hunger and sickness; a devoted philanthropist who has proven a constant warrior agains hunger and death. And all the prissy press can talk about is a meaningless affair in a amazingly significant life. Bill Gates and his wife should be honored for their unquestionably beyond generous contributions they have made to humanity. Instead he is being vilified for a what the sick and vindictive press calls "questionable behavior."

AFTER WATERLOO.

Sore loser and world-famous poor sport is now calling his lost election,"The Crime of the Century". His niece Mary had said losing the election would be the worst possible blow to his eggshell ego, but no man in history had taken a loss as bad and behaved so petulantly as Donald Trump. It is obvious that this lifelong narcissist can think of nothing else but the futile overturning of a legitimate election in order to regain his imagined value, even though he knows that he lost, was not as popular as he thought, and may in fact be mentally deranged. You would think that a man who faced so many epic failures in his life would take another one in stride and he probably would if so many sycophants like his two moronic sons and a cackle of obsequious Republicans senators didn't indulge him in his fantasy the way some mental asylum workers agree with an inmate that he is indeed Napoleon.

THE DUMBEST MAN IN GEORGIA

The January 6 insurrection at the nation's Capitol was committed by a mob of violent, rabid Trump fans. Since the Republicans must take all the blame, they are trying to change history with the most idiotic redescriptions of the event. While Representatives Paul Gosar (AZ) and  Ralph Norman (S.Car.)has issued some amazingly moronic statements, the most insane comments have come from Andrew Clyde of Georgia who described the violent, murderous, thieving, bowel-relieving thugs as orderly and well-behaved and suggested that if the video didn't give the date it would appear as a "normal tourist visit." A normal tourist visit? I visited the Capitol during a normal tourist visit. We all entered through the front door, which nobody had to destroy. Not  a single tourist climbed the wall to gain entry. Nobody carried a Confederate flag or assault rifle, or broke a window to enter.  We didn't steal anything. And nobody used an official's desk for a toilet. So one wonders how distorted Andrew Clyde's view of reality is and why such a demented person has a job in government.

A SURPRISING DEATH.

The HuffPost is a very questionable news source. Especially today. They reported that Damon Weaver, the  young man who, at 11, interviewed President Obama has died at 23. Naturally one is curious how such a vital young man who seemed destined for fame would die at such a young age, so one continued to read the short HuffPost article. The cause was soon revealed. He died of "natural causes". What a weak explanation. One might have said the cause of death was undisclosed or still being explored. But one doesn't accept that a 23 year old died of natural causes, does one?

PRODUCT DESIGN

If you have a cat and you have ever purchased Sheba cat food with the twin-pack design, you will know what I am about to mention. That's right. Sheba cat food is probably the most difficult product to open ever invented.  I know it's just a question of peeling back the layer that covers the food, but it feels like it's been welded closed. Surely the makers of Sheba are aware of this product flaw. Especially since so many cliches suggest that elderly women fancy cats. I doubt that any elderly woman after struggling with a container of Sheba would ever buy it again.

COLORADO CRACKPOT

The amazing thing about Republicans is they will make incredibly stupid and inaccurate comments without any sense of embarrassment. This week Lauren Boebert, among the most ignorant members of the GOP said, "Trump wasn't politically correct. He was just correct." That idiotic declaration doesn't have an iota of truth, but that didn't stop this bimbo. Naturally it was met with a deluge of assaults from Twitter users. Okay it's not as funny as Eric Trump insisting his lazy, slothful, cellulite-ridden father was a "hard worker", but it's pretty close. But Lauren, I am sure, isn't even smart enough to be chagrinned. How does the GOP plan to be successful when so many of their members walk around with a foot in their mouths?

I wonder how Kevin McCarthy justifies to himself why he chose to lie and cheat to defend a criminal like Donald Trump who incited the riot that killed five people and whose constant lies nearly pushed our democracy into oblivion. 

If you're one of the people who still believes that Trump won the election and it was stolen from him, then it follows that you believe that most Americans have no moral standards, no religious beliefs, no code of behavior. Because you believe that most Americans voted for a man (Trump) who is a proven liar, racist, misogynist, insurrectionist, Russian conspirator, responsible for the covid deaths of 200,000 Americans, molester of woman, and possibly a rapist. Do you really have that low an opinion of your fellow Americans? Is that really how little you value your own Christian standards? Can you really not accept that most Americans being church-going, honest people eager to raise their children to be morally upright chose to reject someone as flawed as Donald Trump, and give their votes to Joe Biden a man of proven character? The election was fair and honest, unlike the loser.

THINK ABOUT IT.

When Elise Stefanik says, "We support Trump" she is saying, "We support a racist, a thief, a fraud, a scam artist, a misogynist, a rapist, an accessory to murder, a traitor, a grifter, and a constant and uncontrollable liar."  And by admitting that she and her cronies accept Trump's lie that he won the election, she is admitting to her own gullibility and incompetence, and possibly that she is a willing and ignorant tool for the goals of a corrupt Kevin McCarthy. Elise is either so stupid that she doesn't know what's she's doing or so desperate for any kind of recognition that she doesn't care. Years from now she is sure to be one of the most ridiculous and pitiable figures of this time of lies.

 Police immunity and corrupt judges go hand in hand. Let's get rid of both.

Alexandria Ocasio Cortez is attractive, brilliant and competent. Marjorie Taylor Greene is bitter, delusional, useless, vengeful and unattractive. Marjorie is as insignificant as Yolanda Saldivar. Alexandria is as admired and signicant to politics as Selena was to music. Reason enough for AOC to steer clear of this mentally ill gun-toting hillbilly.

LOST ART.

 I am an inveterate letter writer. In the past ten years I have written over 1000 letters. These have been letters of complaint, letters of praise, letters with suggestions. All were snail mail letters requiring envelopes and stamps. What amazes me is how few of these letters got responses. When I was younger in the 60s and 70s almost every letter was answered. Reviewing my letters today, I noticed I wrote 26 letters to the ABC network. Not one was answered. Nor were the many letters I wrote to NBC or CBS. Apparently the networks feel no responsibility to their viewers, or is it possible that they don't have anyone capable of responding to an actual letter. By the way they also don't answer e-mails.

TUCKER UNTUCKED.

 Any person who doesn't drink the Fox News Kool-Aid knows that Tucker Carlson is an effete poseur who spews idiocy nightly from his beach-ball head. But as much as I would love to rant and rave at what an absurd and ridiculous person Tucker is, I encourage anyone who realizes or only semi-realizes his boundless buffoonery go the hilarious blog of The Rude Pundit and read his "An Open Letter to Tucker Carlson..." Ah, so satisfying. 

PUNISHING TRUTH.

Liz Cheney, being a Republican, is no prize. But at least she tells the truth. And she seems to be the only GOP member who does other than Adam Kinzinger. What a party! Mostly traitors, eager to destroy our democracy and replace it with what? A plutocracy.  What a collection of creeps. All clinging to the craziest charlatan of the 21st Century. Where will their weird loyalties lie when Trump is indicted for tax evasion, real estate fraud, sexual molestation and rape? Not to mention inciting the January 6th insurrection in which five people died. Hopefully the Republican man and woman on the street will see the corrosiveness of the Republican Party and abandon these traitors.

Check your credit card bills carefully. Yesterday I noticed a charge of $67.00 by a company I had never even heard of called 6YA. When I call them to find out who they are and why I was charged, I got a smart ass salesman and no explanation. The credit card company canceled the charge, but I still don't know how it go on my bill. More and more these days scam companies are finding ways to bill you.  Every statement requires more scrutiny than ever.

TUCKER TIPS.

Dear Bubblehead. I know you have a much higher opinion of yourself than you should, do let me give you some advice. Never try to do voices or imitate anyone because you suck at it. Better to just do your beady-eyed stare and verge of hysteria rant. I imagine you are aware of how much leverage you are losing with your viewers since you make so many bizarre comments (kids with face masks was the gaffe of the century), and let's face it pretty boy, you're not as pretty as you were and are coming across a little unhinged. One rarely sees you standing up, but judging from your beach-ball head one can only assume the rest of you is, well, pudgy. What is amazing—and kudos to you—is that the ignorant elders who watch your show take advice from someone who has never faced a trail in his entire silver-spooned life. It's ironic that someone who has always been rich is so well paid to deliver the venom that you spew. I'm sure you realize your day in the sun will not last and you'll eventually be a forgotten prophet of doom. Your children will probably never think of yours as a wasted life, but their friends will, and that will make for lots of unpleasant arguments.

A NEW DAY.

The way I see it is that Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger, the only two honest members of the Republican Party should start a new true-Republican party, recruiting the timid Republican members who are afraid to admit that they are anti-Trump and anti-McCarthy, Cruz, Graham, Dietz, Greene, Jordan, Paul and all those other treasonous creeps. 

CHEESY.

 One company that hasn't done a good commercial in years is Kraft Cheese. In the 50s and 60s they were the leaders in advertising with their highly professional, instructive commercials on preparing meals. Even their announcer for years was famous actor, Ed Herlihy. These days their commercials are amateur and embarrassing. The most offensive to me is the fake child's voice stating that it's "grilled cheese o'clock" whatever the hell that means and why does the screen show "shhhhhh" whatever that means. This commercial is just the latest in their idiotic ads designed to appeal to lazy parents with such slogans as, "It's the easiest because it's the cheesiest."

While Prevagen remains the number one scam product in America, febrize comes pretty close. It's amazing that they have convinced gullible Americans that they have eliminated unpleasant odors when it in fact, like every other room deodorizer, they have replaced them with a less offensive perfume, usually at a higher price. Their Fabric product for instance claims to "eliminate lingering odors" when in fact it just camouflages those odors with another lingering odor, which isn't more pleasant. The secret to the success of these deceptive products is good advertising, well-crafted and well-acted lies. So while the promotions may be first class, the products still stink.

IT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN.

I am reading one of the few books that will distract me from the treasonous Republicans who are out to destroy our democracy. The book is Midnight in Chernobyl by Andrew Higginbotham, and it's 300-plus pages of the most frightening disaster of the 20th Century. I don't see how anyone after reading this can find any excuse for nuclear energy. It is terrifying what can happen during a nuclear accident. No one is safe from the invisible terror of radioactivity. In the case of Chernobyl, thousands died immediately or in subsequent years from cancer. Within days of the explosion, a radioactive cloud from the disaster site infected Scandinavia. Ever secretive Russia tried to hide the disaster, but couldn't and were forced to sacrifice their most brilliant citizens in an endless series of suicide missions to stem the disaster. Most amazing about this book is how Mr. Higginbotham can narrate so clearly, be so scientifically knowledgeable, and deal with such clear portrayals of the hundreds of persons affected by and involved in the catastrophe.  When a factory has an accident it affects the neighborhood and working force. When a nuclear plant fails, it affects the world as Chernobyl did. I personally find it terrifying to know that there are so many nuclear plants on earth, many on fault lines or beside water sources, including one not far from my Miami home in an area whimsically called Turkey Point (shown below). Other than Trump, nuclear energy is the most potentially destructive and unpredictable curse of our time.

VILLAGE IDIOTS.

For a long while I assumed that The Villages in Florida was an ideal setting for retiring seniors. But after seeing Marjorie Taylor Greene and Matt Gaetz hold court there recently, I think it has got to be a hotbed of treasonous Americans. Majorie, a true mental case, was waving her skeletal arms and claiming Trump was the true president of the United States while Village residents cheered her madness. Unctuous Matt Gaetz swore his allegiance to America's most corrupt liar, Trump, and bathed in equal applause. Greene and Gaetz are traitors, denying the legitimacy of President Joe Biden. They should be hauled into court not celebrated at a retirement community.   It's sad to think that so many treasonous Republicans  earned enough in their lifetime to afford a home in a community filled with amenities and yet they lack the one thing that would make their retirement perfect, a working brain.

 The Republican leaders of state governments all over America are passing voter repression laws. They claim these laws are to protect voting rights. But any fool knows they are designed to prevent the mostly democratic blacks from voting. That is obvious to everyone. My question is do these racist Republicans really think the African American voters will peacefully take this assault and abuse? Will they say, "Yes, Master." and give up their right to vote. No. Blacks are strong and powerful. They have made huge inroads into every area of American achievement. They are not going to retreat in fear of wimpy fat white supremacists. America is their country, too. And they have as much claim to the vote as any Republican pol. So to all those smug bigots who, having voted for repressive laws, are saying, "That'll show 'em", be prepared to have them show you.

NERDS OF A FEATHER.

I was trying to decide today who seems like a more backward son of Trump, the gnomish Donald Jr. or the pasty-moon-faced moron Ron DeSantis. Both are stupidly devoted to Donald Trump, Jr. because he hopes to get rich when the old man dies and Ron because without his giant head up Trump's giant ass, he's nothing. Of course DeSantis is living proof that despite its many brilliant residents, Florida is a backward state. I mean who elects someone this shallow to the governorship? I guess the same dullards who elected Martian Rick Scott to the same office, even after he ripped off Medicare. Watch any true crime show on the telly. The lowlifes all end up in Florida. I wonder how many escapees from justice are living in style at Mara Lago on their ill-gotten gains. Anyway, back to Tweedleee and Tweedledum, Trump's most obsequious twosome. Expect them to praise Trump right up to the moment he's indicted and sent to prison. Then they'll both make a laughable attempt at the presidency, and fail miserably.

IT'S AMERICA'S ONLY INTELLIGENT GAME SHOW.

I don't think the news is fake,  but it can be childishly petty.  This morning in Salon one of their lesser contributors Ashlie Stevens  wrote "Anderson Cooper logged a new ratings low during his debut week of hosting Jeopardy." Now what value does that  negative comment have? As a regular viewer of Jeopardy, I thought Anderson Cooper was perfect for the role.  And even if he weren't, it was a two-week stint in an unfamiliar venue. It seems incredibly small for Ms. Stevens to add that totally unnecessary comment. With Alex gone, the show is trying to get its footing again. While I was opposed to Ken Jennings hosting, he was excellent. But no host should be faulted for poor ratings during this trial period.

BEYOND EVIL.

America is in the destructive clutches of a 79-year-old curmudgeon. Mitch McConnell is a miserable old fool who is determined to bring down the country and democracy. He vows to be 100% against anything Biden wants to accomplish, proving he has no respect for the Constitution or American government.  McConnell did not want you to have your relief check. He did not want you to have improved unemployment benefits, help with child care, free college, an increase minimum wage. McConnell made a fortune in Congress as did his wife. He is opposed to Biden's infrastructure plan. He is pretty much opposed to anything that benefits working people and takes even a dollar from his super-wealthy friends. In short, he couldn't care less if you live or die. He is a bitter, ignorant, rigid, old bastard nastier by far than any Superman villain. Like Trump he is a sore loser whose only response to defeat is revenge. If you care about America and your future, you've got work to do. To defeat McConnell and his stormtroopers, you must oppose voter restrictions, vote Democratic, at least until more honest Republicans like Liz Cheney appear, and do everything you can to promote what Republicans fear most: harmony. 

THE PARASITES

On one hand the Trumps, the nation's leading leeches, brag about how rich they are. On the other hand they keep sucking our tax money for their secret service travels. They have leeched over $140,000 in the first month of Biden's presidency. These are people who take no pride in self reliance. They are worse than the worst welfare cheats. Ivanka's eyes light up if she can get something free. Jr. salivates at the thought of a bonus anything. They all think they're special because they have silver spoons up their asses. If you are ever in proximity of any of these hustlers and freeloaders, feel free to make demands of them.  After all, it is your money they are spending.

OPEN YOUR EYES.

Over a week ago, I stopped in at a Visionworks store. I asked what is your least expensive frame. The clerk told me $70.00. This seemed high to me since I have readers that are perfectly sturdy that I bought at Ross for five for $9.00. I declined. Two weeks later, I got a promotional piece from Visionworks extolling that their frames and lenses were all 50% off, no exclusions. I went back to the store and asked what are your least expensive frames. The answer from a snippy clerk was $70.00. So that 50% off was a bait and switch. Eyeglasses are the most overpriced product on the market. I don't know why I expected to get a good deal from proven pirates.

TOTALLY DISHONEST, UNPATRIOTIC, AND CORRUPT. AND KIND OF A WIMP.

PROVEN KILLER

Poor Derek Chauvin. He thought he could murder a black man and get away with it. But the jury thought differently. In what was a very fair trial, he was convicted and will serve time. But he and his incompetent lawyer are hoping for a second trail. This creep doesn't care how much expense he creates for the state, and he sure as hell doesn't care how much misery he causes for the Floyd family. This was a very tiring trial for the entire country, and now the arrogant Mr. Chauvin wants to put us through it again. Let us hope that doesn't happen.

LOSING IT.

 I love that tubby Tucker Carlson called Barack Obama a "creepy old guy". Obama is only eight years older than Tucker and in far better shape. For one thing he doesn't have Tucker's beach-hall head or his deer-in-the headlights expression. Obama also far surpasses Tucker in intellect, but then who doesn't? Poor Tucker, he made a fool of himself with his "arrest masked kids" rant and he seems determined to keep proving he is a complete ass. His biggest mistake was taking on America's most respected man. Tut tut Tucker.

REMEMBER AMERICA

Has everyone noticed? The Republicans are throwing away the United States with both hands. They actually booed during a Mitt Romney speech in Utah, and he's their only honorable statesman. Their most honorable stateswoman is Liz Cheney, and the Republicans want to get rid of her. In our country's history, we have never had more petty, bitchy, dishonest, disagreeable, treasonous members of the House and Senate. The GOP couldn't care less who Matt Gaetz has sex with; how much hate and division Marjorie Taylor Greene spreads; or how unqualified Lauren Boebert is. They just want to win so they can court the wealthy and make tons of money themselves. To achieve this they are redistricting, creating new draconic voting laws, and devising commercials designed to make you hate your neighbors. America is in danger of disappearing, democracy is in danger of failure. And all you have to do is pay attention and speak up.

 I went into Bergdorf-Goodman's the other day. The store is beautiful, the clerks are beautiful, the merchandise is beautiful. But as I passed through the store on my way to the other elegant and costly shops of Merrick Park, I realized one thing: It doesn't matter how expensive or high style a store is, they all have the same low-brow music. Bergdorf plays the same crap as K-Mart.  Every retailer seems to favor pop music with mediocre singers and generally one line of lyrics repeated ten to thirty times. It must be a lot cheaper than classical music or the Great American songbook. Even Target, long a hold-out for any music, is now jumping on the blandwagon. I told the Target clerk, I had to leave because I couldn't stand this ear-offending music a moment longer. Since she was young I expected her to say, "Oh, I like it." but what she said with a grimace was, "Try listening to this for eight hours."

KRISTI NOEM, NO SENSE OF DUTY

I'm sure that South Dakota needs lot of improvement and care. But its governor self-centered Kristi Noem couldn't care less. Having no respect for the area surrounding Mt. Rushmore and no interest at all in the states Native Americans, she's obsessed with one night of fireworks. She's so neurotic about pleasing her hero Donald Trump that she is planning to waste still more taxpayer money suing the Biden administration.  Like most Republicans this grumpy governor has a huge chip on her shoulder and no clue what's important for her state. As long as she can attack Biden and kiss Trump's enormous ass, she's happy.
