FLOUNDERING

Floundering. That's the only word that can be used for Vice President Pence's pathetic ramblings in Texas today. He alternating between spouting cliches and trying to make it sound like Texas had done a swell job in combating the coronavirus, despite the surge in infections. He promoted the wearing of masks as if he had never been stupid enough to avoid wearing one in many past cases. He spent some time letting the governor off the hook for prematurely opening the state. In short he stuttered and stammered and grasped for homilies the way a doomed flounder might gasp for breath.
