Years ago in preparation for a colonoscopy you could pick up the necessary laxative at any drugstore for less than $5.00. Not any more. The greed mongers, in collusion with your physician, now require that you buy a specific laxative for as much as $150.00. When I questioned why, I was told that the more costly product is less unpleasant and easier to take. Not true. It is every bit as unpleasant and distasteful as any past product and even more so for being an unnecessary, uncovered by most insurance plans, ripoff!
