ABSURD ACCUSATION.

A Salon headline today read that "Liz Cheney is now considered too liberal for GOP extremists."  This headline included a photo of Liz, plus those two Katzenammer Kids traitors Jim Jordan and his boyfriend Matt Gaetz. As an ardent Democrat I have resented Liz Cheney for years, finding her strong conservative views annoying as hell and as rigidly Republican as those of her detestable dad. So the accusation from the Bobbsey twins doesn't hold water. Actually some of their suspicious causes have been much more liberal like Jordan protecting Dr. Strauss and Gaetz admirably defending gay rights. I'm guessing they are not finding her views too liberal but too patriotic.

NIGHT AND DAY

Wow. What a difference. Jen Psaki is a refreshing relief from the mendacious pole dancer Kayleigh whatever, the previous pseudo Press Secretary  Jen is clear, patient, knowledgeable and, best of all, truthful. Now one can watch the informative briefings with interest without wanting to toss a shoe at the TV and shout, "liar". Plus she has a sense of humor. Unfortunately her quip about the Space Force gave Republicans a reason to whine (for which they were desperately waiting). Actually "night and day" is too weak a headline. The difference is more like Diamond and Rhinestone.

'HOW DARE YOU BE A PATRIOT!"

The GOP "leadership" is furious with Liz Cheney for voting to impeach a president who instigated an attack on our Capitol that resulted in the deaths of five people and injuries to many others and the fear of possible assassination by several members of Congress.  How dare she be true to her oath of allegiance when her fellow Senators shun any evidence of patriotism. She should have stood by Trump no matter how devious, divisive and criminal his actions were. What's wrong with her? Why can't she be a traitor like most of the Republican Party?

THE GIDDY GULLING GUEST

I never heard of Denver Riggleman an ex Representative from Virginia, but he was a guest on Chuck Todd's Meet the Press Today and what a bullshitter. Of course Todd never knew he was accepting al the Republican talking points Riggleman was dishing out.  Among the bull was a ridiculous lie that Denver saw a store recently that said you were not allowed in if you did wear a mask. Give me a break. That was just a nod to Trump's denial of masks as a safety measure. Denver damned Marjorie Taylor Greene with faint praise, dished out gloomy predictions, and managed to use his time with lots of Republican propaganda and the ever-dense Todd none the wiser

IGNORING THE STENCH.

Newscasters are so gullible. This morning on MSNBC there was much comment about the upcoming impeachment of our treasonous past president. The argument was that a large number of Republican senators don't think this impeachment is Constitutional. Nonsense! They know it's Constitutional, they're lying when they say otherwise. Why do news people pretend to believe them? I have no idea why Republicans elected to be Senators in the United States Congress wish to defend a traitor to the nation they swore to defend, but that is what they have been doing for four years and continue to do.They will certainly not find him guilty despite overwhelming evidence, making this impeachment trial a waste of time and money. But why? Sane people see Trump as an elderly not very bright, loud-mouthed, low-class, over made-up grifter, criminal and traitor. But millions are willing to overlook his endless lies, his cheating, his petulance, his madness, his absurd appearance. Why? It's a mystery we may never understand, especially while our newscasters and politicians continue to promote the myth that Trump is anything other than rubbish. 

REPUBLICANS IN CONGRESS.

 Why is it that a treasonous member of congress like Marjorie Taylor Greene can call for the shooting of Nancy Pelosi and the hanging of past presidents Obama and Clinton, and remain in her job and immune to any prosecution? But if I or any ordinary citizen suggested the assassination of any head of government, we would probably be arrested and put on trial? If nobody is above the law this Greene creature should be arrested for her incendiary comments. Why are the Republicans protecting someone so obviously deranged and dangerous? Are they hoping that she, being insane, will murder someone they don't like and thus leave them blameless? It's a horrible thought, but it seems to be a possibility. True, Greene is clearly demented, but Jim Jordan doesn't seem totally in control of his emotions, and Matt Gaetz often goes off the deep end. Hawley is also nuts. And those are just three of the Republicans in office who seem to have a few screws loose and are capable of putting our country in grave danger.

PULL THE PLUG

 The best thing the media can do now to protect our democracy (assuming they want to protect our democracy) is to not give Trump any coverage. And if you feel you have to provide coverage do it without videos. The Trump cult will disappear if it is starved from the endless videos, sound bites, photos, comments, lies, even repeated gaffes of which there are hundreds. The media should even give the impeachment short shrift. Don't make a big deal of it. You know the Republicans won't. There's no chance the GOP will convict Trump, so why magnify their treachery. Without endless coverage Trump fans will realize how unimportant Trump is. And without coverage Trump himself will wither from insignificance. For four years the media, notably the broadcast media, has given Trump all the attention and spotlight he could possibly want. It made him stronger, won him millions of gullible cultists, brainwashed half a nation. Now it's time to pull the plug.
