CAPITOL FANS.

 It's so amusing to see Matt Gaetz and his steady beau Jim Jordan all giddy about celebrity Brittany Spears. For some reason they are all wrapped up in her problems in a way that were never concern them about their ordinary constituents. So I guess celebrity worship even occurs in the hallowed halls of Congress. How thrilled they will be if they get to meet her and she gives them her autograph.

VERY UNWANTED.

One of the most annoying aspects of the Internet is the number of unwanted e-mails you get. Even more annoying is when you try to exclude them. The offending ones ask you if you would like to unsubscribe when you never subscribed in the first place. With most it's just a click, but with some they ask you to type your e-mail again, thus making you perform a chore to get rid of a pain in the ass you never selected. Even more annoying some keep showing up even after you "unsubscribe". Most, as you know, ask for your opinion in these fake queries which are really designed to get your money. This election season I noticed a very irritating trend: guilt. "You haven't answered our question." "We're very disappointed in you." "We may have to abandon our cause; we have had so few responses." I often write nasty comments on the reply option which I am sure these annoying pests never read. The few that I do care about also don't get any money from me because they never include a street address. Apparently most people think everybody pays for everything by credit card and not by check. Well I don't.

HUH?

On the Internet it says, "Betsy DeVos's legacy in jeopardy." Did that incompetent old crone have a legacy?

Beliefs

For trusting children everywhere

There always come that day

When logic compels them to

Put fairy tales away.

Sad it is, I must admit,

When they accept the truth

That no generous fairy

Rewards each missing tooth.

No Easter Bunny hops along

On fat, white, furry legs

With an unlikely treasure 

Of pastel candy eggs.

And, alas, must come that Christmas

When suddenly they see

That Santa Claus and reindeers

Just simply cannot be.

"Bringing toys to children everywhere

On a single tiny sleigh."

Is absurdly impossible

In every single way. 

Yes, it's true, all children

Will soon discard themselves

All belief in fairies, 

Goblins, ghosts and elves.

Yet while giving up all fantasies

Without another nod.

For reasons inexplicable 

Most still believe in god. 

 

 

I'm not surprised that blacks are being vaccinated for Covid at a rate far less than whites. The problem is everything is done by computer. Poorer people may not have computers. And even if you do have a computer, the rules are made so bloody complicated that you go through hell to make an appointment. CDC and state guidelines are an annoying maze of hoops one must jump through. What the hell is wrong with having a phone number one can call, which is answered promptly by dozens of volunteers, who can deal with your concerns and make an appointment for you?  PBS has such a system with their annoying, endless fund drives. Is that kind of system only for those who are making money and not for those in need of succor and a shot?

MIKE, THE SINNER.

Former Vice President Mike Pence would do well to read up on the Bible. He arrived on the political scene posing as a true Christian. But he must have missed some major parts of the Bible, based on some of his recent comments. For instance, "Thou shalt not bear false witness" You know. Mikey, like suggesting Trump won when he didn't. You know the election was fair, yet you lie to suggest it wasn't. Tsk.Tsk. 

INCURABLY EVIL.

 I really worry about a country where a nutcase like Marjorie Taylor Greene is actually allowed to sit in the house of representatives. The woman is certifiable. Calling for the impeachment of someone who hasn't even served yet is insane, nothing less. It's like giving a bad review to a book you haven't read. More and more often I see photos of the Greene harpie looking like a wraith out of Shakespeare muttering obscenities as she runs through the Capitol halls.  Congress should get rid of this harridan before she loses the final screw and goes completely haywire.
