FAMOUS PEOPLE IN HIDING

I wanted to communicate today with a leading writer. I knew I had valuable information she would appreciate and advice from her would greatly benefit me. But like many famous people today she is unreachable at least unless you jumped through all kinds of hoops involving passwords and an explanation of just why you wanted to communicate with this exalted person. I think celebrities make a huge mistake by becoming so unreachable. They deprive themselves of unwelcome and valuable criticism as well as ego inflating praise. They miss out on opportunities that never occurred to them. And best of all they become participants, once again, in the real world.

FLEETING FREEDOMS

 Right now as an American you have lots of rights, probably more rights than citizens of any other country. Enjoy them, because if the Republicans get their way and elect Trump, you won't have them much longer. Republicans have already taken away a woman's right to her body, children's rights to read the most innocent books, and the rights for LGBQ persons to be themselves. Who are these. GOP bullies? In many cases just old, fat, pseudo-Christian bigots and homophobes who aren't smart enough to know how ignorant they are.

LABCORP WHERE ARE YOU?

YesterdayI got a note from my cardiologist advising me to visit a local Labcorp and have a blood test. In looking up their locations I found that the Labcorp nearest to me was at 2601 37th Avenue. but when I called to make an appointment I got the usual jumping-through hoops runaround that ever doctor, bank, and corporation uses today to avoid ever speaking with a human customer. But since they said an appointment wasn't necessary I headed for the lab. What I didn't realize was that 37th Avenue in Miami has an insane numbering system, so after several false stops and lots of walking I reached the actual 2601 only to discover that Labcorp was not there and had moved nearly a year before. I  wouldn't have minded so much if I was 22, but at 81 I was to put it politely pissed off at Labcorp for leaving false information on the Internet proving you can't trust anything you read on the Internet. If you have an appointment with any of the many, many Labcorp locations,  I suggest you make sure it still exists.

A DROP IN QUALITY, NOT IN PRICE

 I you have a dog or cat as a pet, you have fleas. They are irritating, maddening parasites that make your pets miserable and don't do much for you. If you buy flea medicines you will note that they don't work very well or not at all. That is because fleas are becoming immune to most deterrents. That however has not stopped the greedy pharmaceutical companies from charging outrageous prices and telling even more outrageous lies about their product's effectiveness. Fleas are detestable and inevitable and hopefully someone will come up with an effective way to combat them. In the meantime you can keep getting ripped off by Revolution, Frontline and all the other scam artists or give your pets a daily bath or combing (not likely).

THE MORON OR THE HARRIDAN

I see where Nikki Haley is suggesting that Trump is too old and senile to serve as president. But his age has nothing to do with his incompetence. He's basically too self-centered and ignorant to consider the needs of an entire nation, and so is Haley. I have no use for people like her who lie about the value of others like Biden, a highly moral and competent leader, in order to boost their own value. In addition, I find it very annoying that she questions Trump's "mennal" value, not because he isn't a nutcase - he is - but because she can't pronounce mental which isn't all that difficult for educated people. I hope she does well in New Hampshire because it will infuriate Trump and she will remain a loser. 

WISE UP MAGAS

The most hilarious thing about Magas is how gullible they are. Trump says he's religious and they buy it, though he never goes to church, can't quote a single Bible verse, and he announced years ago that he's an atheist. He says he's a billionaire, but his hand is always out for donations from the working class. He says he has a high IQ,  but is forever making blunders and misquotes. He says he's a brilliant businessman, but has a long history of failed companies: everything from casinos to colleges. He says he's a great golfer, but everyone who has played with him calls him a shameless cheat. Either his fans are just plain stupid, or beyond forgiving of a con man's failings. I go with the first choice. Which means they can't wise up because they can't effectively reason. Sad.

IT'S ABOUT TIME.

Well Boots DeSantis has finally thrown in the towel, and removed himself from a race that he was never in in the first place. He has run away on his stubby little legs from the absurd belief that he could ever be president. Now he can use those same legs to backpedal on all the nasty things he said about Trump, and return to kissing Donald's ass. What he doesn't realize is the danger of kissing an ass that is very likely to shit on you, especially if you made a deal with Trump that he has no intention of keeping.  How wonderful it is to see arrogance defeated, to see a book banning homophobe and his Stepford wife sit through till the end of his shameful Governorship wearing a shit-eating grin on his bobblehead face. He probably has visions of being chosen for a Trump vice presidency, where he will do his obsequious best while hoping the increasingly dotty Don will have a stroke, or  trip on his ill-fitting trousers and fall down the Capitol steps. But even if Trump won an election (ha ha) why would he want such a pathetic loser on his ticket, a moron almost more weirdly self-centered than him? He wouldn't. And fantasies aside I doubt that the American people would willingly give up over 200 years of freedom for four years of chaos, violence, submission, mendacity and required adoration to a fat, flabby, flatulent, four-flusher. Because of the traitorous Republicans our country is in bad shape. Millions of gullible brainwashed boobies are insisting that our excellent president hasn't accomplished all the he has. Irrationality is rampant. But even with all the upsetting news there are still little gems of delight, like Ron DeSantis is what we always knew he was, a loser.

I REMEMBER

I remember when America was still a great nation. It was  time when Republicans were still patriotic and honest.When greed hadn't yet affected everything from the price milk to the cost of renting a place to live or buying a forever home. It was a time when veterinarians cared more about the health of pets than ripping off the pet owner and physicians were more interested in medicine that making millions. It was a time when you could book a hotel room by actually calling he hotel not some reservation center in another city or another country. Corporations had phone numbers they weren't entities and hiding and they welcomed comments from their customers.Movies were judged by how good they were not by how impressive the box office was and they were made for adults. People read books then, often the same books which they discussed with each other.Television had serious dramas or major musicals or sex-free sitcoms and commercials were far, far fewer than they are today. Stand-up comedians related the comical problems of everyday life not their difficulties with constipation, diarrhea, and erectile disfunction. We had just as much sex back then but it wasn't topic # 1. While everyone seems happy with their cell phones, large screen color TVs, and endless choice of streaming movies, we're fatter than ever, angrier, and far more unfulfilled. We are constantly told who is more beautiful, more talented, and richer than we are, or worse who is fatter, uglier, meaner and more heartless and yet is the darling of millions. 

ERRR..ERRRR.ARRGH...UGH.

American manufacturers spend a lot of money to package designers to make sure their products look good on the shelf and are easy to open and close. Do you suppose they know that most products are a pain the ass to open and rarely can be resealed or rewrapped with any kind of ease. I just tried open a package of  throat lozenges from the champion of overpricing Mucinex. When the tear here suggestion didn't work, I had to do what I mostly have to do: use scissors. Most products are badly packaged, though there are some real champions. Sheba for instance is a cat food that comes in a tear-open package. At least it does if you have super-human strength, The manufacturer should look into how many elderly cat owners don't buy this product. Any clear package with a cardboard backing is difficult to open. Many bottles require Herculean strength to uncap. Even a great many package pastries require destroying the enclosures to get to the contents,  There are dozens of name products that are a chore to open, and I am guessing the companies that make them don't have a clue.

HAS AMERICA LOST ITS MIND?

 America is great. It's free. You can travel to all 50 states without a single visa. You have free speech, can marry or sleep with anyone you like over 18, dress as you please, get a free education, affordable medical care, and when you get old America will still provide for you. But for some inexplicable reason, millions of Americans no longer want freedom. They are supporting a lying, cheating maniac who vows to destroy the democracy they have flourished under and replace with a hateful.angry, autocracy. They are desperate to get an old, flatulent, incontinent, atheistic, often illiterate mound of flab into the presidency so that he can slowly and deliberately lessen all their freedoms. These same morons vilify their present president who is doing everything he can for the citizens of the U.S, including lowering the price of insulin for every diabetic, including those ungrateful idiots who repeat every lie about his motives. While the country is rampant with brain-washed cultists, let us hope they are vastly outnumber by patriotic citizens who do no share the obsession of the sadly manipulated  mindless lemming-like Maga morons.

IOWA CON MEN REAL AND FAKE

The last famous con man in Iowa was the fictional Henry Hill of The Music Man, who was very likable. Sadly the newest con man to invade Iowa is the detestable Ron DeSantis. Now Ron is the useless Governor of Florida, though we Floridians hardly ever see or hear from him. He did race back to deliver his totally fraudulent State of the State report in which he never addressed the many problems we have here. Perhaps you remember what he did before his enormous ego told him to run for president: ban books, including classics; fight with Disney and lose; create new  bigotry laws; let anyone carry a gun without a license; and show his hatred for any and all gay or transgender youngsters. By his bigoted side is his wife,, Casey, and their innocent children who are probably ruled with an iron hand lest they have a single thought of which they uptight parents disapprove. This bobble-headed dolt is as dangerous to democracy as his his former mentor Trump. Hopefully Iowans will see right through his slimy true self as I assure you he is no Henry Hill. 

A USELESS MESSAGE FOR AMERICA'S HOPELESS.

If you're a Trump fan, you're a gullible idiot, a moronic cultist, a suicidal citizen.  You actually believe Trump is religious when he's a confessed atheist. You think he' s pro-life when he was always pro-abortion until he realized the idiotic voters he needed wouldn't stand for that. You're deaf to his endless lies, blind to his obvious snobbery, indifferent to his arrogance, and forgiving of the fact that he detests you and wouldn't have you in Mara Lago for anything if you're not wealthy and attractive. When you're interviewed on television, educated people roar at your stupidity. When you're gathered at rallies with your asinine outfits and hostile, vulgar signs, sane people see you as misguided morons who mostly have accomplished nothing in their lives. Traitorous Republicans see you as easy prey to advancing their ambitions since you are so ignorant of the law and everything else. You're a Trump fan because you're a fool and friendless failure unable to tell false from true and fraud from your fanciful misconceptions. The only person who's worked hard for you in recent years is Joe Biden. But Trump, being the nasty turd he is spreads lies about Biden, and you, who only watch Fox and gossip with other factless ninnies, believe him.

THE CLAIMING OF THE SHREW.

Congresswoman Nancy Mace from South Carolina was the perfect representative for the Republic Party today: angry vindictive, shrewish and ready to falsely accuse Hunter Biden of having illegal dealings with his father. She apparently still wishes to behave as she did in her unfettered former life as a Waffle House waitress. No less infantile are her GPO colleagues who claim that the "American people" want Hunter Biden to testify in private when it is only they who so desire a privacy that allows them chances to edit or falsify any testimony. Why are they so afraid of a public hearing? Why is Ms. Mace so hysterically pissed off and eager to toss Hunter into prison? Why do the American people continue to allow Republicans to constantly lie in their name? 

P.S. Based on her Hunter attack today Mace believes that to have courage, you must have balls. This doesn't speak well of her opinion of women.

GREEDY PIGS VERSUS ITCHY CATS

 I just ordered a flea medication from Chewy. The product is Revolution. The price is $80 for three applications, three less than an ounce applications.  Revolution is a major rider on the ripoff bandwagon. Certain these tiny vials of liquid can't cost them more to produce than $1.50, but they charge $80 because they know we love our cats and have no choice but to pay this obscene price. Fortunately I can afford it. But I think of all the other people eager to keep their beloved cats from scratching and having to shell out nearly $100 to do so because some greedy executive wants a huge bonus and whose only love of dogs or cats is how much profit they bring. 

So similar. Arrogant, Avaricious, Self- centered,Vain, Cold-hearted Con men. 

PRFERRED CARE CHEAPS OUT

If you're a senior like me, you will recall that last year's OTC catalog was very generous.  I particularly appreciated getting free Prilosec, which is costly. I figured this year I would get a new blood pressure monitor. Wrong! The new catalog has totally cheaped out and listed only items I suspect do not have a high demand. I tried calling them which really raised my blood pressure because they couldn't answer any of my questions and asked stupid ones of their own. Oh, well. Next year I'll know better and check out other plans.

THE FIRST TO GO

If our obsequious Supreme Court sides with Trump on his desire to be on the ballot, they will be committing professional suicide. Because if Trump is elected and gets the dictatorial power he craves, then they will be first to go.  After all he is a supreme ruler and does not need a court of nay sayers telling him what do do, especially not a black man since he is a racist; and not a zealous Christian woman since he is an atheist. Or any of the female justices since he is a misogynist. And certainly not a heavy drinker since he is a teetotaler. That leaves only few powerful men who may criticize him and we can't have that. I hope these comfortable seated  persons think about this when they are about to create another  ruling as stupid as their past ones. I don't think Clarence will have any value to millionaires when he's out n the street. And as for the others: they certainly have more to lose than their unearned paychecks.

THE NEW RED SCARE

 Older Americans will remember the Communist scare or scares since we have feared Communist infiltration many times.But the new Red Scare is even scarier since it's happening in our country, in our Congress. The new enemies of our democracy are our elected Republicans who have been brainwashed by Donald Trump and stirred by such traitorous members of Congress as Jim Jordan, Lauren Boebert, the Blonde Loon, and the newest anti-American pseudo-Christian, sinister Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson. While these hypocrites collect unearned Government paychecks, they are spending more time kissing Trump's ass than passing laws or serving the people who elected them. They hope to bring the downfall of democracy ignoring the fact that it was a democracy that put them  in the Capitol that they so publicly despise. In the next election we cannot allow America to have more red states or angry red representatives. If the majority of Americans don't vote blue, then America will face many blood-red days ahead.

BOOTS DESANTIS WIMPS OUT AGAIN.

Our cowardly Governor; Ron DeSantis, when asked how he would deal with school shootings in essence suggested that we he would certainly apply the law to the shooter after the massacre, but would not deny him his rights before innocent victims were killed. A typical kiss-ass Republican response designed to please the gun crazy among us. DeSantis is such a weak and irresponsible wimp. I can only hope that Iowa sees just what a piece of shit he is. 

IS HE OR ISN'T HE?

 I am surprised at the number of my friends who insists that Speaker Mike Johnson is a closet gay. They cite as proof his absurd religiosity and the bizarre deal he has with his son in which they protect each other from watching pornography. Plus one is always suspicious of those who are overly anti-gay.  I must admit that Johnson is a little too self-controlled and too quick to condemn gays and profess his own excessive morality and adoration of the Bible.  If his son ever does catch him in the act of watching sexual videos, I wonder what sex it will be.

 NOT  ONLY ARE THE REPUBLICANS ON THE SUPREME COURT TOTALLY CORRUPT, BUT ONE IS A DRUNKARD AND ANOTHER, ALONG WITH HIS WIFE, IS A SHAMELESS FREELOADER AND TRAITOR TO THE UNITED STATES.  THIS COURT IS USELESS.

TALK ABOUT UNFAIR

There are over a million men and women in America's prisons. Most are criminals. Some are innocent and unjustly convicted. But they will do the time because no magic act can set them free. This is not true of super criminal Donald Trump.His criminal past is far more varied than the average prison. He has lied, cheated, stolen, committed fraud and led a traitorous mob to assault our Capitol Building in order to satisfy his enormous ego. Thus he is likely to be convicted in the near future.and face prison time despite the ludicrous fact that he planning to run for President. Others who are running for president, in effort to kiss his ass and the asses of his fans, vow they will pardon him for his crimes if they are elected. What kind of leadership is that?  Do Haley, DeSantis and Vivian Blowhard feel Trump should not be punished for all of his crimes and especially for leading an insurrection against the country they claim to love? Do they really intend to forgive all the transgressions of one of our nation's most despicable criminals in order to curry favor with those morons who still admire him? If so, they are just as unpatriotic as he is in their contempt for the rule of law. If Americans don't vote blue, our democracy will fall into the hands of those who have no true regard for Truth, Justice, and the American Way.
