It has been 13 days since the Tuscon shootings, yet it is still the lead story on the national news. But should it be? I maintain that the country is not that obsessed with every detail of Ms. Giffords' welcome recovery or first-person accounts of the tragic day. It is just another example of the deterioration of broadcast news, especially from the major networks. I have no objections to being kept up to date on the encouraging news of each victim's recovery, but his has become absurdly over-reported to the exclusion of in-depth coverage on more relevant stories. If you think I am being petty about this, please express your feelings about it. I think this story will become the
Moby Dick of news reporting.
